A lot of drug addicts are strong willed people. It's just that, their allegiance and strong will goes toward getting the drug and no longer getting off the drug as their morals change from repeated use.
The first time I used any opiate it was 5mg oxycontin, I had few side effects and had a good time. I was a 5'10, 150lb male.
Ok, what was the experience like and how much more would it take to be dangerous?
Uhm. I was relaxed and had a warm body high for a few hours.
As for the second part of your question, let me ask myself the same thing. "Hmm Renz, how much oxy can you take to get high, but not die?!"
Answer: I have no opiate tolerance. I have no clue. Chances are, I could probably take a lot, puke my guts out and not die unless I mixed it with another CNS depressant.
How do you even get ahold of it? A prescription? What would I have to say to the doc to get him to get me oxycodone? AND I have a heart murmur which a lot of people have, is that a risk?5mg is far from a fatal dose, yes. I took 20mg the first time I took oxy and got sick & threw up, so nothing dangerous just not very pleasant (I didn't have much opiate experience - only a fair amount of codeine & hydrocodone). Then I tried 10mg and that was really, really nice for me. Warm buzzy feeling and happiness/bit of a nod. You're considerably taller and heavier than me though. But if I were you I'd start with 5mg like what people said and work your way up SLOWLY if you feel it's not enough.
You will NOT OD at 5mg provided you don't take any other CNS depressants with it (alcohol, benzos, other opiates...).
As for what doctors advise, that sort of depends on the patient so that's a bit of a vague question...all I know is when my grandfather was in his terminal stages of lung canccer he took 10mg twice a day, but I dunno.
Anyway hope that helps. Be safe and think about whether it's really worth getting into, oxy is VERY addictive.

I only want to use it occasionally, I will research all about opiates before taking them, I just want to experience that warm feelingIts a hard road. I love opiates. I did mean hydrocodone. but 5mg oxy works. But I wouldent go this route. People will tell you, the withdrawals suck, and you never stop having the desire for them. Its unlike anything ive done. They feel great. But its a long hard road, most people get on them for pain then gett hooked.
I am only on tramadol now.
But even after years, I would pop a 30mg oxy in a second if I had one in front of me, and I am very strong willed.
usually if you take a dose thats a little too strong for you, you get "sea sick"
If you OD, call 911. We carry a drug on the ambulance called Narcan, it immediatly blocks opiate recptors, saves lives, but you will feel so sick I cant even describe it.
