Is it possible to find out the milligrams of a pill? Can it just be weighed? I know you need a lab to test how many milligrams of what drug. But I just want to know overall milligrams..

um you weigh it.
sorry but i'm not sure what you want to know. the average weight of a whole pill? according to lab results at eve whole pills seem to be between 200 and 300 milligrams, 300 being a fairly large pill.
the active ingredient of these pill ranges between nuthin and 200mg.

The only proper way to obtain the specific quantity of drugs would be to
1. use a Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer
2. (theoretical) do a fractional distillation of a solution made from your pill.. each substance has a specific boiling point, and so it should be possible to separate those substances, and then re-crystalize, and weigh.

I just want to find out how many milligrams overall the pill is..not how many mgs of which drugs.

Assuming you have a scale, but one that's not sensitive to the milligram level, and that you have a few identical pills at your disposal, perhaps you could try for example weight 10 of the same kind of pill and dividing the result by 10 to give an average mass per pill. That way even if you have a scale that's accurate to 100mg, you should be able to get the mass of 10 pills to +/- 50mg, and then that will give you the average mass of one pill to +/- about 5mg.
Hope that's a help.
