So here lately I've been getting such a bad sweet tooth. Now that I'm off drugs it's like my brain wants to still be rewarded, like everytime I do something my brain tells me to do something, like smoke a cigarette. i'm trying to quit smoking so cant smoke everytime I do something.

It's the sweets. I've gobbld up 3 big bags of skittles in the past 4 days. I know this cant be good for my health. I could use some ideas, how do u ease your "sweet tooth"?

I'm the wrong person to be talking to about this! When I get nervous, I eat like a fucking cow. I eat whatever I can, but tend to smash the sweets harder than a whore. Shit is NOT good for me, I know this, but I can't help it. One day, I'll be a Lifetime movie.

Fruit!
When I crave sugar, I eat some fruit.

I recently cut sugar out and that is my only trick- that and fighting the urge :)

what kind of fruit? like real fruit? can'd fruit, cup fruit?
do u go for a certain color fruit?

me2 man, we should star a lifetime together.

I've found that drinking BOOST® vanilla flavoured protein shakes will both curb my sweet tooth and get a quick meal in all at once. They aren't exceptional, but if you're trying to avoid the 'skittle habit', I highly recommend them. (Just don't eat a meal on top of them, unless you workout a lot or need to gain weight). I've also noticed that I have far more energy (and far less of a sweet tooth) when drinking these.

Overall, if you are a healthy person, I really don't see a problem with goodies in moderation. SO, CUT BACK ON THE SKITTLES, MAN! ;)

Don't worry so much about your health. Your going to die anyway so just enjoy the skittles.

Best. Advice. Ever.

However, if you want to extend that life just a little longer it would probably be a good idea to cut back lol. I find that when I have a sweet tooth, keeping around those "fun size" mini candies works well. Its just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth without eating 4 king size bags of skittles in 3 days :)

I have also found that the more I give in to my sweet tooth, the worse it gets. If you can control it for a while, you'll start to notice that it happens less and less, or that its easier to satisfy with something like fruit, like ocean suggested.

The best explanation I read about the sugar cravings was that it is an attempt by the body to fix itself by stimulating serotonin production or another one that says that it converts it in to serotonin (depends what ya eat) .

Cycle 5-htp for a while.

D's, try freezing grapes..

It's healthy and addicting which would work both ways for you :)

Can one buy 5htp in shops like Boots?

What I love doing best these days is munch on deliciously sweet baclava, together with contrasting bitter coffee. Hits the spot.

I go for regular plain fruit.
Canned fruit is sometimes kept in syrup which kinda defeats the purpose :D You can get cupped or canned fruit in water- but I like it fresh mostly.
I''ll eat whats in season.............I love berries, oranges, cherries and bananas!

The skittles reminded me though- I used to be a sort of nanny- I watched these two little boys from like 6 am to 10 pm 6 days a week- Well, one day while the older boy was in school (this was like 2002 and it was kind of a new saying) I took the younger boy to the grocery store-
So he is like 3 or 4 and I have him in the cart-
I'm unloading the groceries onto the belt and he is reaching for the skittles
- I said "No, Devon, not today, you got fruit snacks (like the gummies)" and he says in the most adorable little pleading voice "But don't you want me to taste the rainbow!?!?!" haahahaha
I miss that little guy.

Carrots, believe it or not. They're filling, a little sweet, and have nice body to them. Fruit is good too, of course, particularly apples or bananas.

I havn't done the frozen grape thing before, someone told me that microwaving grapes and eating them would be good, but i didn't get the joke until after my microwave almost caught fire.

those dried cranberry fruit things are good, sept i gotta get like a fresh bag. alot of the times they will be all brown, and lost the texture.

right now atm, i'm eating the marshmellows in lucky charms, they seem to work, but they only put so many of these things in a box.

maybe something sour would like reverse the craving? like if i bit into a lemon?

lol.

i'm a chocolate and milk kind of guy. i throw some fruit in there every now and again, but it's such a difficult task.

yogurt or chocolate covered raisins maybe? i find the things gross but i know friends who like to snack on them instead of reaching for a candy bar.

my sweet tooth is pretty voracious also. i can consume more sugary snacks in a short time than a 6 year old kid on halloween. for example. in the morning.. chocolate lucky charms in chocolate milk with hersheys syrup on top.. i probably shouldnt give you ideas but..

so far the best thing i have found to ease the sugar consumption is the presence of my girlfriend. if she is around, i have more ways to give myself a tasty treat, or else since she is a health nut i end up feeling guilty for indulging on such a constant basis. not because she guilts me, but because she rarely does and then im just indulging on my own, which is less fun unless you are by yourself.

so my tip is. get a sweet girlfriend, and take a bite outta that! (not literally, unless she is into it)
