    Welcome Guest!

How do YOU determine which is a HARDER drug?

Least Dangerous - Most Dangerous

My Opinion Think like "Terror Alert Colors"
Marijuana
Shrooms
MDMA
LSD
Xanax/Benzos
Cocaine
Heroin
Meth

Alcohol is perhaps the most reckless of all though. It causes the most deaths among most of these combined. Nicotine is really bad too...

And I think that chart royksopp posted is from www.thedea.org, not www.usdoj.gov/dea/...they are two VERY VERY different websites dude.

I rate the hardness of a drug by 4 different methods

1: Addictiveness
2: Personal experiences
3: Cost
4: Ease of purchase

Here's my list with terror colors like iNOVA

Marijuana
LSD
MDMA

Shrooms
Speed
Ketamine
Meth

GHB
Benzos

Cocaine
Heroin

(where i'm from that is)

I would agree that MDMA is harder than marijuana in general. I judge "hardness" by the amount of potential damage they could do to one's life, without regard to our assbackwards legal system.

My basic scale in general would be something like...

THC
caffeine
mushrooms
LSD/LSA
salvia
DMT
ibogaine
Mescaline
beer/wine
nicotine
GHB
MDMA/ketamine(non-IV)
oral opiates
nitrous
DXM
2c-b
intranasal opiates
benzos
cocaine
meth (snorted)
PCP
IV ketamine
IV opiates
crack/meth (smoked)
IV coke/meth

not a real exact science, just something quick off the top of my head.

In general opiates dont do a lot of harm to your body, its more the fact that people start engaging in poor behaviors, until IVing starts of course, but that mostly has to do with IV safety rather than the drug its self

I see IV and smoked stimulants as really the worst drugs out there period, just my beliefs though. I have tried almost every drug under the sun (common psychoactives, as I am aware of the one million analogs and shit out there) and it was the stims that fucked my life and body up the worst. Crack is fucking whack! Peace

yes somehow people dont think of DXM as a strong drug because it is OTC. I ahve ODed on DXM 3 times, and all three times had horribly dramatic seizure, unable to regualte body temperature, heart complications and would have died without medical intervention. Not to mention the histamine reactions that can become very severe with some people.

but yeah I am going to stand by my statement that crack/meth are the worst offenders!

for me its drugs i would do and wouldnt lol

i dont think weed alchool mdma and psycs and speed/meth

then imbetween them is coke

then theres like H and ghb

4 some reason i dont see 2cb as a drug in my mind LOL ive done it a few times but if i made a list of drugs ive done i wouldnt think of 2cb idno why

I believe that abuse of MDMA leads to increased risk of depression in the long term, i don't know about how badly it affects your cognitive behavior/memory, but one thing for sure is it can't give you lung cancer.. smoking (anything, weed included) can cause various cancers, can cause blood pressure related problems, and so on...

Anyway for me, both weed and MDMA are soft drugs, they bare not highly addictive, not physically addictive, not bad for ones health in general (apart from exeptions above) when taken in reasonable doses.

I don't find E nearly as addictive as everyone here seems to suggest... :S

Heroin and Meth seem to be hardest IMO. Though...I haven't exactly tried either of the two and never plan on it. The only drugs I plan on sticking to are MDMA and alcohol. :P

Dr David Nutt in his committee's report "Drug Classification: Making a Hash of it"

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200506/cmselect/cmsctech/1031/1031.pdf

gave the following classification of common drugs in the UK by descending order of potential harm:

Heroin
Cocaine
Barbiturates
Street Methadone
Alcohol
Ketamine
Benzodiazepines
Amphetamine
Tobacco
Buprenorphine
Cannabis
Solvents
4-MTA
LSD
Methylphenidate
Anabolic Steroids
GHB
Ecstasy
Alkyl Nitrites
Khat

Three criteria were used to assess "harm"

ok so why is everyone putting Heroin as the hardest drug? IMO/IME Crack and Meth are much harder drugs than Heroin. Yes I understand that Heroin has the physical addiction piece to it and all but for the people who have experience with all 3 would you not agree that Heroin is probably the lesser evil of all of them?

this just always shocks me that Heroin time and time again gets the top spot

I think it may be because at one time heroin addicts tended to have an average life expectancy of about 2-3 years after becoming hooked.
As remarked above it's not the heroin (or opioid) that kills you but the life style requirements that heroin addiction imposes.

LOL! People going to emergency for marijuana? So they're high and start freaking thinking something is wrong with them? Never heard of that in my life...8) Leave it up to the dea to come up with some bullshit like this.

It's a lot more common than you might think, this may very well be an exaggeration, but panic attacks are a powerful thing.

It seems that people are consistently rating LSD as a "harder" drug than mushrooms. Any insight as to why this is?

Isn't this a simple question?

The more toxic something is to your body, the worse it is. I think that should be everyone's guideline/criteria. Addiction shouldn't be part of people's criteria, it's too subjective and does not represent everyone.

alot of you have LSD high up on the list when it is less toxic than orange juice. I don;t get it.

I might even put LSD before MDMA

You must consider both addiction and physical harm when determining how "hard" a drug is.

Yeah. Something may not be AS toxic as some other drugs, but when combined with addiction the potential to suffer from some of those toxic effects is increased since you're doing the drug more often.

Why not do this by class (not sure about Cannabis's class though)
From greatest to least hard

Stimulants(speed, coke, tobacco, caffeine and so on)

Delerients(Anything from dephenhydramine to tropane alkaloids ie datura and other plants like it)

Opiates

Benzos and Alcohol

Dissociatives(dxm pcp ketamine, n2o)

Psychedelics (Phenethylamines, Tryptamines,)

weed
(did i forget anything?)

Of course individually some drugs are obviously less hard than others in contradiction to the class i gave them. for example i believe nitrous to be a softer drug than perhaps most psychedelics and maybe even weed, but when the whole group is taken into account i think my ratings are fair.
Also is mescaline a Tryptamine or a Phenethylamines or something else?
