How do you convince yourself that you can actually be more than what you think of yourself, esp after years of self sagotage?

I've been reflecting on the stories of people who have overcome mistakes to lead successful lives. But for those of us who feel destined for failure, what hope is there? When failure feels inevitable, you either accept it or seek comfort elsewhere. I wonder if replacing addictive habits with positive ones could lead to change. If history suggests we’re stuck in our failures, does that mean we’re doomed? I'm curious about how others have managed to push through, whether they're still using or not. I'm trying to expand my perspective beyond what I've internalized. I've often told myself I was born weak, which justifies my struggles.

So I'm not like the Michael Jordan of having a positive outlook, I do keep going though even when at odds. In life your going to fail alot and fail at some things you try, no one's perfect. To get good at something you have to continue failing and then aquire the skills to not fail at the thing your doing.

Maybe Don't view failure as failure. Kinda of like there is no definitive good or evil it all meshes. Not everything bad is good and not everything good is bad. It should be what you think about it.

You should journal, I used to journal idk where it is lol. You can like plan stuff and reflect on stuff and like organize your thoughts, your day, and work towards a goal.

I understand the world is kind of bleak. If you break your addictive habits and replace with them positive structured ones you could change your own world and your own sense of self. Sometimes when I was like homeless and doing really bad i would think about the world how my situation could be 100 times worse if I was born in the wrong country.

I think the biggest hope is your alive to day and are capable of doing things. You will probably do something and that's cool.
Try to find a productive hobby your interested in that could actually make you money and you'd really love life.

Edit: the only time a person is doomed is when they gave up.
