I can divide most people up into 7 camps on the drug issue.
Nonusers
1: Ultraconservative. Would chase you out the door with a knife if they found out that you did anything but alcohol and caffeine. This includes my parents and pretty much everyone I know over 50.
2: Conservative. Wouldn't kill you, but won't think very highly of you. Most kids in SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions. Basically bought into DARE and the abstinence programs and want to continue it.) fall into this category.
3. Moderate. Accepts drugs as part of society. Wouldn't see them protesting or trying to legalize. Some of my friends lie in this region.
4. Liberal. Accepts your choice of drug. Strongly advocate legalization. Most of my friends are in this area.

1. Conservative. Thinks that anything but pot, alcohol, and caffeine is evil.
2. Moderate. Uses pot and (maybe) psychedelics, but wouldn't be seen with coke, speed, benzos, or opiates. Generally accepting, but might raise an eyebrow if they hear about you doing any of the harder drugs. My "druggie" friends are in this area.
3. Liberal. If it feels good man, like, do it. I'ma go nod off now.
