I dont get it, the best method is supposed to be Waissman, and costs $15,000, the other ones considered less safe and inferior, cost $5000.

What real junkie has that much money? I don't get it. I am not a suburbanite teen who's parents will pay for my treatment. I am a grown man with bills and a drug habit.

Is there programs to help with rapid detox or is it just a situation of you can afford it or you cant?

Rapid detox is the BIGGEST waste of money. Ask ANYONE who has been stupid enough to pay for it.

If you really want to get clean, spend that on a 30 day rehab. If you just want to detox and continue use, do a quick bupe detox.

There are no programs that help "junkies (as you put it)" because of it's extremely low success rate and high risk.

The people I know who did it felt like utter shit when they were released and went back to using that very day. Shit cost them well over 20k too, they coulda had a college education, new car, down payment on a house.

But IMO if your goal is to get clean, its a complete waste. If you have a serious habit, you will probably still be in withdrawal (most definitely) when you get out. If you have a small habit you might come out ok, but a shitload more poor.

Why not detox using a taper/bupe/methadone'/ct? People think rapid detox is the easy way out but its just a money maker that is BARELY approved because of the stated reasons

Tried bupe tapers upteen times. They are good for a few days then the WD returns once the bupe leaves the system. My habit is huge. I can go pop 10 30s and not even be nodding. I go through bundles of dope a day. Maybe thats why bupe detox dont work for me. I got a bunch of 50mg naltrexones. I might just cut them up in to tiny pieces and take them 1-3 mgs at a time. At that dose they are supposed to only stick to the receptors for 4 hours. I can handle 5 hours of PW. If after that I feel unbarebly shitty I'll just use.

I want to get clean. I dont get hi anymore. I just pay to not be sick.

If you want true success getting clean, simply detoxing will not do shit. Whether its a rapid detox (which will still leave you hurting with a habit like yours) or a quick bupe/methadone detox, you are still going to have post acute withdrawal symptoms and still be in the gripes of addiction.

If you have insurance, I would look into a medically supervised detox then an inpatient rehab no less than 28 days to get you jumpstarted in your recovery.

If you do not have insurance or any family to possibly give you a loan, look into salvation army, or other similar rehabs. They are free/low cost and your best bet at sobriety.

At the very least whatever method you choose, after you detox, get into an IOP program. It is nearly impossible to get/stay clean without outside help.

There is no shortcut/mysterious method to avoid withdrawals completely. It is possible to make it less painful, i.e. switching to bupe and tapering extremely slow until you are just taking crumbs a day and skipping days.

I with you luck man. I am speaking from my own experience and friends experiences. I think most addicts will agree, even though detoxing is scary/very painful, it is the easy part. Staying clean for the rest of your life is the real battle.

A rapid detox pretty much leaves you right where you left off, horribly addicted.

Guess you are right. I been through WD and made it through the physical part a couple of times and been left with the obsession and PAWS. I believe in the 12 step programs. Like I said before. When I had a $200 a day coke habit I got 2 years clean through NA. I did no rehab, just made meetings everyday, got a sponsor, did what they suggest and as soon as I stopped going I thought a beer now and then was ok. Now I am where I am.

I've been to rehab and used not long afterwards even though I did IOP, it wasn't until I found NA I stayed clean and pretty much other than the groups and all they preach going to meetings afterwards.

I'm an addict. I want the instant fix. Rapid detox would be the quick fix for the WD but the addict is still there, just detoxed.
