Opioids How Do I Not Have Withdrawal?

I have had to quit (30 mg and half of another) because at the moment I have no income, it really sucks because although I buy these off the street I still use them for pain, as well as recreation. At any rate, I took half of a thirty roxicet yesterday morning and today I still don't feel a whole lot. I did these every day for almost a year, but would only do that amount and never exceeded it and only did them at night time, around 9 pm. Today I feel some hot/cold flashes (nowhere near as bad as I imagined though) and some slight agitation and every now and then an ache or two, hardly noticeable though. I did begin to have diarrhea but I have just been popping imodium, stomach's a bit queasy but that's not that noticeable because I suffer from BAD stomach problems anyway, had three surgeries as a matter of fact and my stomach problems are the whole reason I started doing opiates in the first place. I guess what I'm trying to say is, could I have gotten lucky or have the real withdrawals just not kicked in yet? Its now 3 pm and its been over twenty-four hours and I really don't feel a whole lot to be honest.

How long have you been taking opioids? How much have you been taking?

For me, and others, the first 24-36hrs of w/d is pretty dull. I am just tired and lethargic during that period, and don't suffer much in the way of discomfort.

So, you might have more in store for you w/d wise. However, if you don't have much of a habit your w/d might not be anything worse than minor GI issues and mild depression or insomnia.

well, i've been taking approximately one 30 mg pill of roxicet and also a half of one, so i guess like 45-50 mg maybe? And I've been doing that every night, around 9 pm for like nine or ten months or so...

Wow, okay so you're almost definitely due for some w/ds. It isn't going to kill you, and with a little naproxen and something to help you sleep and poop you'll be fine. But yes, it's not abnormal to experience mild/no symptoms the first day or two after not taking your normal opioids.

When in w/d make sure you hydrate and eat lots of good (fiberous) food (fruits and veggies, keep it low on the grains/sugars - you want protein, fiber and a bit of salt unless you have blood pressure issues). That and try to make sure you get enough sleep.

You're w/d will probably peak in 4-5 days and then by 7-9 days you'll be pretty much over the acute w/d.

Let up know how it turns out though. You never know, you might just somehow be able to escape w/d. Given you're relatively "low" dosage of oxy this is a (albeit very small) possibility.

You might be interested in this thread created by Phreex, on narcotic withdrawal. You will most likely experience some withdrawal as you've been using for quite some time. I've noticed that people who dose once a day, and orally, tend to not feel sick as fast as someone who mainlines their DOC multiple times a day.

Who knows though, maybe you'll just get lucky!

Might as well use this time to prep as well. Get the foods/liquids/etc you have been recommended while you still feel OK. I'm such that I can't go to work if I use dope for a week then quit. All I want to do is be in bed. You've been using for a year. Pedialyte (store brand is cheaper) is great for hydration. Only tastes good very cold though. So get your aspirin, etc now as you may be in bed for a few days or so feeling crappy or worse. I'm talking pedialyte as I just used like 6 quarts of it last week, didn't even know I was dehydrated but it is super for that symptom. It's good for you too, basically gatoraide but top of the line sold in pharmacies over the counter, all the electrolytes, etc your body needs.

But I know for myself, if I'm in bed feeling like total crap, the last thing I want to do is get up and go out and run an errand (there is exactly 1 exception- going to get dope- for some strange reason I start to feel OK if I'm in bed feeling like total crap the moment i make the decision to get up to go get some dope).
