How do I go about getting put on Suboxone

I really want to get off all the opiates I am struggling through life due to them. I have so many pain issues that I have become adddcited to opiates and now I have sold almost everything of value to obtain them. What would I do to get prescribed sub's ? I live in VT and the Doctors up here are tough to deal with, I also have state insurance so I do not think I can go to another state to get them prescribed. Help anyone?????

Hi, I went through the same dilemma. I got hooked on oxys due to pain issues. I was seeing pain doctors and started on a downward spiral, getting higher doses. But they were never enough, searching for the higher highs. Also sold many of my valuables and hated myself for it.

I had been seeing a psychiatrist who had no idea of my opiate problem for years. Finally when I got so depressed I told him. He was very understanding but I could tell he was surprised I had been keeping this from him. He prescribed suboxone for me that day and told me to quit the oxycodone. It's not that hard to get. Look up psychiatrists and ask if they can help with opiate addiction. Then when you find one, they will help you.

You're doing the right thing trying to get help. Many doctors can do this for you. It's a common problem. They can help you with a plan to gradually wean you off altogether. Good luck to you.

Thanks T.! I have a psychiatrist but she us mean and I don't think she would be the one. My primary doctor is also mean and probably won't help me. This is where I'm stuck. Anyone in VT that you know of or are reading this have any advise or Doc's to recommend? ??I want this to end before I end up ? there.
