How different is high-dose and low-dose LSD really?

Doesnt surprise me.
Ive seen him take some 2c-b and like an hour or 2 later squirt a vial in his mouth getting ~7-10 hits.
Then later in the night having to deal with obnoxious drunk people.
And he handled himself much better than i did and i was on a lower dose.

As for the original questions.

They are different as everyone has already mentioned. But after having experienced high dose LSD i feel like i am able to tap into the same energies/mind state on lower doses as i was able to on high doses.

are you frequenters are and the mods all tight with each other on a call-them-up-and-chat-about-your-trip-kind-of-basis? Thats really cool if you do

Does taking a high dose of LSD (say >=3 tabs) really differ that much from low dose (say 1 tab) as far as the trip goes?

Usually at bush doofs we take a reasonably high dose of LSD, say, 2 tabs of 150-200ug. So in other words we are used to the head fuck, loss of ego, incredible visuals, even confusion and anti-social-ness, to the point where we can't actually TALK to people.

This weekend I went to a doof and had some pretty low dose tabs. I had one, then in about 1.5 hours I needed another one, then again about 2 hours after that I had another one. But just because I didn't completely lose my mind didn't mean it wasn't good! I got a lot out of the (relatively) low dosage that I had over the course of the evening. I mainly had extreme euphoria, and I was very chatty, I met a lot of new people, I was able to communicate succinctly, and I had The Smiles BIG TIME!

Both high dose and low dose LSD is enjoyable, in different ways.

Hell yea... difficult drug to get addicted to I'd say... how would you operate in normal life? And there's no immediate 'rush' like I just got from my lines of coke and oxy for example - it's a long complicated experience - a 'trip' of course. You can't live in a different world every day...

some day it would be a half a hit others it would be like 5, I was taking it as a buffer to the reality I was creating in my life. like back drop to daily tasks. <snip> but I still dose for fun, I find it fun sometimes but I also have graduated to harder drugs, more plessure drugs which are more forgiving mentaly then LSD.

Yea man I was gonna say... acid is essentially non-toxic... which is nice... but it can make you go fucking insane if you do it constantly. Permanently. Really. I've seen it. Sounds like you want some sedatives if you can get them. I'm not suggesting you go out and buy benzos or opiates BTW - harm reduction and all - but that's the escapism you want. Not to live in a different world. Just to forget about this one for a few hours.

I've often wondered what would happen if you gave a 'noob' like 150ug in a coffee or a beer or something... but without their knowlege... what would they think? They'd actually gone insane? What would they do? You'd have to watch them carefully... terrible thing really... but for the sake of science... and lulz... (jk! not rly doing it!) :D

Bolox. They make fine acid in the states. In the 60s/70s (apparently... I wasn't born... but you hear the stories) it was the best in the world by far. I've had imported ~2002 and it was great. I'm in the UK. And BTW 150-250 is pretty vague.

Well of course it does. A low dose will make the walls breathe and any patterns move around you, then everyone sits round a table smoking and laughing, but laughing about different things. They think they're all laughing at the same thing but really they're in their own little weirdness. A high dose will cause you to have no idea where you are, or who you are, then question the nature of reality and talk to a tree for 2 hours until the sun comes up. Or maybe that was just me those first few times :D

Thank you all for the intelligent replies. The reason I ask is that I just came into possession of 3 tabs that are reported by the source to be ~120ug each. The last (read: only) time I did acid I had 1 tab that was 2 years old from a certain popular music festival in Tennessee. It took FOREVER to kick in (just over 2 hours), but when it did it hit hard and fast, gave me mild synesthesia and OEVs for a few hours and a really cool head trip for a good 8+ hours.

I'm trying to decide if I should take all 3 tabs at once or 2 tabs and save 1 for a mild trip later...

Are you going to another festival/club/party etc? Where there's people you don't know and a lot of chaos? If so take one and see how it goes. Take another if you're okay. Smoke a bud and have a rail of your favourite stimulant. Have a shot of scotch. It'll come on faster than last time. Don't stress about it not coming on... although just telling you that will probably make you stress about stressing... just chill it'll be fine.

On the other hand if you're just in a room with a few friends and a few beers - take the lot mate! It ain't poisonous or anything. Worst case you trip too hard and someone has to give you diazepam. Best case you have a long and amazing experience which could make you see the world in a different way. Worth it? You decide. You've got access to diazepam though right? Every regular tripper or stimulant user should have some around IMO. It's basic but it works a charm. And it's safer than a bottle of vodka... as long as you don't eat the pills like a free bowl of M&Ms...

Not too long ago I poured an unknown quantity of liquid down my throat, compeltely by accident, was trying to dose a hit or two, but *splash* ... Everything disintegrated into fractals, the fractals fell away, and there was an overpowering silvery light flashing through my vision. Complete ego death soon followed, but only briefly, and then remarkable synesthesias, existing as/with the music, but most notable was the remarkable mental clarity, although I was completely slain, physically speaking, unable to move, just lying in bed. But there was no confusion at all, my mind remained completely clear. After an hour or so I was able to get up and make my way to the bathroom--looking in the mirror was like something out of an Alex Gray painting, and then the walk over to my friends house featured trees melting and morphing into one another and the sky dissolving, and a "grid" showing up behind it, which was the "grid" of human interconnectedness ... a mental Internet, if you will ... and so on, and so forth ...

Yeah, I never got anything quite like that off a hit or two. :D

Hah! I love stories like that. I took a whole bunch of what I thought was 'pills' at a rave once - meaning MDMA to me at the time, or supposedly/mostly MDMA and amp - I don't touch street/club pills at all now so I'm not sure of what's in that rubbish these days. Anyway I quicky realised what I'd taken was 2C(???) or something very similar and I had no idea how much I'd had. Felt extremely strange in a way I've never felt before. Immediate taxi home. Probably sensible... And then... it was suddenly all okay... I lifted all the bricks out of the driveway with my mind and played tetris with them for a while. I touched the ground and grass and flowers seemed to gow around my hand. I looked at the sunrise... and then it was over... just like that. Smoked a spliff and went to bed. Weird but interesting night. No comedown. Still no idea of substance/dose but I'd do that again for sure!

This thread really makes me want to go and eat my whole stash right now o__0. I've never dosed that high before, but my larger doses compared to the lower dose trips were very different.

Low doses for me are usually wavy-swirling carpets and breathing walls with a somewhat altered mind-state, little euphoria and stimulation. Possibly some anxiety if I am not tripping as hard as I would like to be. Larger doses produce much more euphoria and colors dancing/shooting around me to the music. Also much more fractals covering surfaces. Gotta love acid.

I've tripped three times on LSD, and while I'm interested in taking high, one day heroic, doses of mushrooms, mescaline, DMT and so on, with LSD I feel like there's a cap. I wouldn't want more than a tab and a half of my current batch. That's enough for a definite +3 and moderate visuals (the tabs are pretty strong). I just don't feel like LSD is something I'd like to take beyond that level. But I imagine some people here would find that blasphemy. Especially you insane people who've taken it to a whole new scale of reference some fifty times or more the active dose!
