How did you first 'discover' illegal drugs?

I've taken two or three different Benzo's in different countries, all of which have been touted as x times stronger than Diaz or equivalent to 10mg Diaz. From proper medical charts 'an all.

Comparison has never been valid.

15 mg diazepam will just about make it past the radar. 15 mg etizolam will give you crazy legs (or rather no legs). Not suggesting anyone doesn't already know this but I just thought I'd throw a simple minded example out there to provide some context.

FFS you just don;t geddit do ya .

Right 15mg of etizolam is 150mg of diazepam according to the charts :| n i know which one i would rather have . Diazepam is just fukin better ok . Combine it with Nitrazepam liquid n get it free well nuff said ........................

This post from drugs-forum seems to make sense of the situation quite nicely:

The reason this happens is because benzodiazapines are used for different indications ie diazepam for anxiety at 10mg would equal temazepam at 30mg but for insomnia would equal 15mg. Zolpidem 10mg equals Diazepam 20mg for insomnia but as an anticonvulsant 10mg Zolpidem is equal to about 1.25mg Diazepam.

Or is that flawed too. (ignore that fact zolpidem is a Z drug not a benzo, it's in the charts and the equivalence comparison is still theoretically fair.)

Brimz, just because you have a lot of experience with benzos (and we all know that!) doesn't mean you have the only valid experience. I have a lot of experience with MXE, and it doesn't work for me any more. I consider it useless. But it's not, it's me and it that don't get on together.

That post is basically what i have been trying to get across for the last 2/3 years i'm sure i have written a similar one myself. I never said that benzo's don't work for me btw they work great couldn't live without, em fantastic drugs for my condition Diazepam especially .

Of course what must be taken in 2 account is that different folk will have different reactions to drugs what might work well for you might be a nightmare for me . I am talking about non recreational Drugs in this instance .

My Benzo use has been light throughout my life. But I know if you have me a choice of 15 1mg etizolam or 15 10mg Diaz there's no contest.

So the point is that adjusted for potency etizolam is a poor mans diazepam. I agree with that but I personally don't feel etiz is as bad in comparison as many others seem to feel. I thought we were talking about the 7 fold potency of etizolam compared to valium, and in the absence of data on receptor affinity etc.. thought I'd try and establish some sort of conceptual baseline.

And I never said benzos don't work for you. I'm just saying:

YMMV

An oft-quoted, almost trite fact that yet somehow seems to escape people 99% of the time :D

wiki has all the info about etiz and receptor affinity.

I thought you were comparing your tolerance to MXE to mine with Benzo's

you wanna chill n have a few Diazepam ;)

Personally I never felt meph was that special. Its a great utility drug in the sense that it hits a lot of the same spots as a combo of cocaine, mdma and speed would, but without being as good as any of them on their own either. I'm not sue if that even makes sense but it certainly is a slightly blunt tool IMO. Others probably wouldn't agree with me though, plus it strikes me as potentially superior to the other drugs mentioned when combined with alcohol, something I don't take.

i was amazed how good it was first time i took it, i admittedly had an ego explosion, which took several doses before i could get that under control, but it made music sound so good and involving, massive mood and confidence lift, im not sure if the almost all consuming lecherous effects were a good or a bad thing.

The bit in bold was in bold for a reason, I was pointing out that individual reactions to drugs vary. Tolerance is just one example of that.
