I have 2 friends that can find mdma for me. The one is a dealer that won't give me because it's his principle never to give to friends, the other just can get anything in his hands but doesn't want to give it because he says that this is a drug that can cause permanent damage from the first use. I insist that you have to take many days in a row to have permanent damage, but he insists back saying he has seen some guys obdain brain problems from the first use.
How true would that be? Is there a way mdma will cause permanent damage with one use only? What are the chances?

If it's really MDMA and you use responsibly then it's not as dangerous as your friend claims. Sometimes things that are not MDMA get sold as MDMA though, so if you do use it be sure to use a test kit.

damaging your brain from a single use? we have no indication for that. the studies that came to that conclusion were from a now discredited researcher and are completely irrelevant because they used really huge doses.
but mdma has a psychedelic component and can therefore unearth underlying psychological issues with a single use. just like lsd, mushrooms or cannabis.
generally speaking though, mdma is safer than horse riding. but you do have to be respinsible with either if you want to avoid unpleasant consequences. please have a look at our directory (especially the mdma essential guide) to learn more about mdma, its dangers and how to minimise risks.

Black about sums it up

Could be that the guy he's talking about took a massive dose but even then it's likely the issues he's experiencing are psychosomatic as in created by his mind not his body. MDMA when used wisely isn't all that dangerous. If it was you would see an epidemic of people suffering from horrible side-effects seeing as it is one of the more popular drugs out there. It's used by millions of people every week yet only a very small fraction of those people suffer side-effects and of that very small fraction only a very small fraction suffers side-effects from normal use.

Number one rule: test your drugs with a full testkit or if possible have them tested by a lab

................... the other (dealer) just can get anything in his hands but doesn't want to give it because he says that this is a drug that can cause permanent damage from the first use.

So he only sells to strangers! Lucky strangers to have such a benevolent drug dealer who sells a substance he believes can seriously fuck you up! Jeez.

And lucky you for being his friend.

. I damaged my brain from a single use. Fact! Be very very careful. It can fuck you (permanently) In ways you can't imagine.

C'mon Nambo this isn't a 'fact'. More factual would be that it can bring underlying psychological issues to surface but that's even not a fact and is wishy-washy. Other than the odd story on BL (including your case) the very vast majority of people will experience nothing significant from one use of MDMA. And even those that do it's highly unlikely to be anything related to actual 'damage' of the brain. The negative effects of MDMA don't have to be a result of actual brain damage.

in fact, the mdma can screw up your brain, not recommend for consuming

The last few posts are interesting. Many people including myself have used MDMA multiple times and certainly feel unscathed. It would be very useful (and much appreciated) if Nambo, ADubbs and ryann could elaborate on how they feel they have been damaged.

Simply to add to the knowledge base for harm reduction purposes.

i have no permanent damage from it, but it feels toxic and dangerous to me. It takes me days to feel normal again after a roll. In my humble opinion, its just not a very good drug. The high is awesome, but no decent drug should leave you feeling drained and brain fried for days afterward for a measly 3 hour high.

I am still interested in trying to use it to heal my emotional traumas but every time I think about taking it I get afraid of the come down/following days and decide not to.

ok first, the mdma will messing up my feeling, on the time which I had a roll, due to the mdma it caused i have a wrong feeling that i had love on a girl so much and caused nearly suicidal. After that, i cannot control my feeling on the post effect, i unable to resist to the depression. Beside that, you must understand the thinking behaviour of pre-consuming mdma and post-consuming mdma is totally different. In fact, my friend consumed methamphetamine and ended up he gave up his life and dedicated his life to the drug. He told me that his life is just like that. It is same working as mdma, it will make you change your mind and getting far away what you want to pursue in the real life. As the conclusion, what does the mdma hurting most is not the physical, is the mentality of a person. Do you ever ask yourself, do u think the consuming the mdma is a right thing to do? for now , u will definitely say it is right. However before u consume it, what will you reply on this question ? definitely no. Thats why i dont like mdma is because it will destroy a person mentality. I hope a person can think wisely and put the responsibility on yourself.

The guy talking about permanent damage isn't a dealer. He just can get anything in his hands. And the dealer one doesn't only give to strangers in parties. But there is a difference bettween knowing someone and considering him a friend, right?

What if you use an other drug next day just to deal with coming down. Like alcohol or heroin.

With the answers here, Im getting to the conclusion that pure mdma is a good thing to do, if used responsibly. If I get your point right, this drug is so much pleasurefull that will change your way of thinking and you will end up not using responsibly?

I can only speak from personal experience, hence it being a 'Fact'. My experience is that I used it once. Since that day I have had blurry vision, cognitive issues, and horrific 'psychological' problems. Ie depression, suicidal ideation, anhedonia and virtually ( in the first couple of months) an inability to function, as if I had suffered a brain trauma (which is what it felt like). I was literally bed ridden. You honestly needed to experience it to understand it. I am total aware that the majority of people out there don't experience this (including all my friends who do it). But that does not change my experience nore that of BBen, Somedud, ryan23 or FBC all who had the same experience as me. So maybe I'm an outlier and just super unlucky, but the reality is is that my life has been ruined 'fact' and that's after 3 years of 'recovery'. It would be very wrong of me not to highlight this as a risk as it is.

Did you reagent test and weigh your dose when you used Nambo? I think this is important to clarify because it's part of what I mean when I refer to "responsible use". I certainly wouldn't recommend using MDMA without those safety measures.
