a girl from my high school died while she was on DMT. there have been a lot of rumors going around about how she actually died, because she had wondered off by herself and was found in a pond the next morning ( absolutely tragic...:( ) what do you think could have happened to her? i do not know anything about the drug.

DMT changes everything around you at times, it is an extremely strong psychedelic and not to be toyed with. First timers to DMT in my opinion should have a spotter, if its their first time taking psychedelics altogether i would try to convince them to try something else first, or two spotters.

She could have had a bad trip and killed herself, maybe she was murdered? I know its your friend here and it might not sound nice to hear that, im sorry for your loss and give my condolences to you, friends and family.

Also, did she have any mental illnesses, like schizophrenia or manic depression? maybe passed on through the family line? also was she on any other medication?

ah, so it's really intense. got it. yeah, it's still a mystery but now it makes a little more sense to me.

IME with DMT, as soon as I have a breakthrough, I'm not going anywhere. Not because I don't want to (I don't) but because I'm so far inside my own head that I can't. Now assuming she took enough to break through, she likely did the same. Though it was mentioned in the article she got up and was trying to leave. It was from my understanding that the autopsy confirmed that she drowned. It's a possibility that her state contributed to this but her death being a direct result of DMT overdose, is highly unlikely. It's pretty safe stuff in terms of toxicity (if there is any at all).

I recall reading a news story similar to this (girl dies in lake after taking DMT, others who gave it to her tell police) and it was just a standard suicide, possibly stemming from a bad trip earlier and definitely with DMT in her system. No toxicological connection from the DMT itself. Unfortunately things like this happen with depressed or emotionally unstable individuals from time to time. Psychedelics can be physically benign in many ways, but they still are powerful and potentially dangerous.

Yeah, basically she was in another world and must have wandered into a pond.

It's a big shame because now not only is she dead (:() but there is media attention on DMT so at least to some it will be known as "the new drug killing our kids", and of course these people will directly blame to DMT as if it's a dangerous and life-threatening substance, which it isn't at all. DMT is found naturally inside our bodies and is one of the physically safest drugs in existence.

Things like this are why psychedelics, especially one this powerful, should not be used at parties, and people on them should not be left alone. She should have had someone there with her, not tripping, who could make sure she was okay.

Tragic indeed. :( And entirely preventable I'm afraid.

This is the reason we have Bluelight. Education and harm reduction.

I'm 99% sure this is the same girl, and this guy knew her.

I don't know how they could determine it was a suicide, though it could have been. It seems more likely though, unless there is evidence of a suicide, that she just wasn't aware of what she was doing and ended up in a bad situation she couldn't get out of.

DMT is NONEXISTENT in Malta, me and a friend are saving up bit by bit to go to peru or somewhere of the sort and have ayahuasca prepared and then taken under a shamans watch.

im guessing during her dmt journey something went awry, she didnt listen to something who knows and she moved on to another level/way of the dmt? Maybe she said yes? who knows man she probably just got swept up

i'm not really sure why they let her wander off. someone said they thought she went outside to throw up, but never came back.

and she had just met the guy that gave it to her that night, he also made it himself apparently. i don't know if that makes a difference

I have no idea, but to me this sounds like something dirty went down... I mean, I dont understand how this is possible, who on earth is so careless that they dose someone with DMT for their first time and then actually let the person wander off on their own?

Sounds like a series of terribly unfortunate events, put into motion by neglect.
