how can I dry the res in my chillum?

okay, so, I have my glass chillum, and I rarely clean it so in case i pull the ash through the res will catch it. Anyway, since the last time I cleaned it (about a week and a half ago) I can't get the res to cake inside the chamber ( I don't clean the bowl because I have it res'd PERFECTLY) anyway, the res just stays really wet no matter what strain I burn in it. It gets so bad the res will dislodge and clog the chamber up so bad that i have to blow through the bowl to get it out(res turds anyone?). My question is, is there any trick to make the res stick to the inside? I've tried burning the res to a crisp from the mouthpiece by sucking through the bowl, but that didn't really work. Also, before anyone asks, I've never used iso to clean this one, just picks.
 
I'd just clean the thing. Sounds like you got the resin wet, when that happens, it becomes gooey and dislodges a lot. Whenever anyone tips my bong over, I have to clean my downstem and bowl or else the whole thing smells like shit, and resin will pull down into the downstem and clog it.

I prefer my glass clean as can be, though, so this is generally not a problem. My best advice would be to clean it and start over, it's not like the resin will maintain the level you are looking for without constant attention anyway - it's always going to get more and more caked up.

If you don't want to pull ash or bud down the bowl into the tube, I suggest using a brass screen.
 
i've found that when you dont have a lot of resin built up from the last cleaning the resin is very goo-y and doesnt like to stick to anything, making a big mess. If i were you id smoke through it until you can get enough in there for it to clump up again.
