How Can I Develop My Psychic Abilities?

I am 13 and I have a strong connection to the spirit world. I'm not exactly "psychic" but I want to be more open and able to receive from the spirits, or God, or whoever. I'm supposed to start seeing energies soon, so I'll have that, but does anyone have tips? Would attempting lucid dreaming help? Or more meditation? Idk...

My belief is to not try or to have expectations regarding the supernatural and if and when the spirit world chooses to reveal itself to you, appreciate it. Just my $.02.

Supposed to start seeing energies soon eh? Care to elaborate on that? Is this a trap?

I don't know what you mean by "trap", but this certainly isn't one. I mean that the psychic told me "you'll start seeing things, like energies, or spirits." without any more detail. I don't mean to be snappy, but I can't really explain any more than that. It's basically just seeing energies. I can give you synonyms to energies. Aura, mirage, guise, illusion. Idk what to say. maybe that was enough to clear any confusion? ok im done now

a) develop your ability to question what people tell you before taking things people say for truth

b) train your mind through meditation (also read alot on meditation first so you have an understanding of what you are aiming to do)

c) don't place importance on certain 'signposts' which are the steps of personal liberation, you can only understand it fully through experience

also psychics are often as half-baked as spiritual guru's

Hey, I really thought I was developing psychic abilities when I was in benzo withdrawal doing Kratom extracts a few months ago. It took care of most of the WD, but I felt quite irritable and it didn't work like normal.

Anyway, at some point (and probably had something to do with underlying withdrawal psychosis going on) while it was semi-dark I started seeing lots of golden little pixels in the air, like I often would going to sleep as a child. It was like the air consisted of 50% dark and light particles.

Then I found if I focused in on something, like my knees, the particles would begin to arrange themselves and show me what I wanted to see, anything I could think of. And I thought that must be how people see things in crystal balls and water and it's just something to focus on and makes it look more glamorous.

But I was pretty out of it and both opiates and benzo withdrawal tend to make me slightly psychic or open my third eye in some way, and it hasn't happened again since then.

Anyway, it's really strange when it happens, kind of like being in a dreamy world but it seems natural and like no big deal.

Know yourself first. We've all fantasized about super-powers and how cool it would be to show them off to our friends. Ultimately, that's missing the point in my opinion. There are too many people who have allegedly had psychic experiences but that lack personal development. Even if the experiences they had were as genuine as they claim, they are rarely evolved people. These people are out of touch in my opinion and I can spot them a mile away. I actively avoid them.

I do believe that the universe or higher-self is trying to communicate with us however. It's an intensely personal experience. Keep it to yourself or only share it with people who are highly evolved, interested and ask you first! Give it room to grow. You're not special for having these experiences. If you spill it like a cheap can of chilli and look to the world to validate it, it sets you back in the long run. Finally, the language of communication is important. It rarely happens in English or French-Candaian. Create your own language! Give meaning to symbols, make an agreement about it and then let these symbols around you reflect this meaning back at you at different times. People will force their interpretations of symbols down your throat, but there is no single truth in these matter. For example, assign your own meaning to numbers, make an agreement with the universe that this meaning is what you will see when you see this number and then use the numbers that you see in the world to gain insight into what is happening. Test it with your experience. The more you value it, the more it grows.

at 13, just enjoy life and school and friends and everything while you still can. don't worry about what any "psychic" tells you.

At 13 I wished I had a mentor to explain to me what it was I was experiencing, but I didn't... I did, however, encounter a lot of scam artists and koolaid. I hate to say it but even if you have some latent ability, you should probably wait until you're an adult to seek out mentorsip since as a young person you will be vulnerable to deception.

If you have real talent then it's just going to develop more and more throughout adolescence, and you won't have to try too much for it to happen. The number of truly psychic people in the population is small, but a larger percentage have much higher empathy and intuitive abilities than most.

Best thing you can do for now is try to stay grounded.

I knew a psychic and she had a respectable level of clientele, and while she was legit, and serious and put a lot of study into it, my impression was that she was more wise than psychic, and used the psychic stuff as a medium to get paid for providing counsel. YMMV

first get a grounding. try to be objective. as others have said, don't blindly take what another says, but i would add to not discount it, either. that would not be being objective. sometimes i get the idea that the universe is always in some potential communication.

get a grounding layer of what is going on, and what you can certifiably perceive. these are in fact "psychic" abilities, as well, for psychic means "of the mind", or something like that. just try to be observant. and also be observant of yourself. also, don't discount your thoughts, and what you think you catch. but always test it. and retest it.

i don't think i'm psychic, but i often run into things that might suggest otherwise. or... actually, i believe i am psychically connected to others, spiritually connected. and the spirit is in everything. spirits/spirit.

for a while there smoking weed allowed me to see the world through others eyes. i honestly believe i was projecting my consciousness into other people's minds. the only science i could use to back this up is that weed forces your brain into an alpha state which is likened to the state the mind goes into during heavy meditation. similar experiences have been reported by buddhist monks who would meditate for hours on end. was what i was seeing really real and psychic or was i just going crazy? i'll never know.

don't believe everything people tell you. i wouldn't consider the ability to sense auras to be psychic, i believe it's more of a spiritual connection to other people.

The human mind is capable of some amazing things, but I take any "psychic" phenomena with a pretty big grain of salt. After all, if it were really legit, every trailer-park palm reader would be prognosticating the winning lotto numbers.

The one truly beneficial thing you mentioned which will probably help you throughout your life would be to devote some time every day to meditation. That and focus on getting a good education.

I don't believe that psychic ability is the same thing as future seeing

That and learn how to drive a bicycle.

No offense, but I think any 13 year old child should stay away from sex, drugs and psychic stuff, and should just have a "normal" childhood. Even though you probably think you are more mature and have special abilities, I consider this to be non-sense. You are just a normal kid, so try to do what normal 13-year old kids do (learn basic-social skills, learn to think critically, learn to become responsible for your own actions, choose your own values,...). If you don't focus on these "normal" activities (and already start to be preoccupied with anything too "exotic") this will only disturb your natural growing-up process and generate long-term negative effects.

seconded. i did that.. well starting at 14, but I was exposed to the counterculture propaganda by this crazy anarchist at 12 , found drugs at 14, psychedelics at 15, etc... its been a double edged sword, though... good things and bad things and I love my life very much, probably more than most people, however i think i struggle a bit more, but it may be temporary.

also, you could alternativly invoke upon a disco duck. they'll teach you all you need to know.
