Pretty self explanatory. Trouble with resisting the trip, not giving up control completely, not letting go. Anxiousness and what not ensues. End up not enjoying the drug. I'm young, still learning and i'm not afraid to admit that. There are things i haven't learned (attitude wise) because i've never really had a trip setter. I suppose you could say i need help developing my mind set. Don't be afraid to give me spiritual information :3.

There is no such thing as a good or bad tripper.
Read D. McKennas techniques.

If you really want play with fire learn and practice Kundalini meditation and exercise this during a powerful trip, Learn chakras and how to do Kundalini meditations. Practice for 30 hours sober before ever trying in a trip. You can damage your intestines, spine and brain if you do not practice and completely understand the meditation.

Thats not for beginners son, and not a joke, however it did save my life, and taught me the most divine power possible.

If your just looking to let go and enjoy a trip, lay in a dark room, dose high remember everyone has there troubles too, throw on so many roads by jerry (below ) realize we are all one and fizzle into what is all knowing you will return with a special gift of love

Much love

Sounds like you already have a good understanding of why you're not getting everything out of it that you would like to. That's very important. :)

Again, kudos for your self-knowledge. That's an ideal starting point. :)

Now, don't be afraid of yourself. Try to clearly state your intentions during before tripping (e.g. I would like to gain some more insight on the following issues I'm dealing with) and try to come back to that a few times while tripping. It helps to remind yourself that you will come down again if you're getting afraid. Most of the times, anxiety comes from not wanting to deal with difficult issues. Know that these might come up during a trip. That's part of why psychedelic experiences can be so useful.

Lying down, putting on eyeshades and preparing music beforehand (food and drinks ready) may help you to focus inwards.

Lastly, listen to this Beatles song. Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream... this is not dying. This is being. :)

posting to read here. I'm having the same issues with giving up control, it's like I'm really excited to go as far as I can but once I've started tripping I'm too scared to go too far into the rabbit hole and I always end up pulling out and turning the lights on and watching the simpsons or something ;)

A few tips:

- find out which psychs you like best out of those available to you
- find your personal sweet-spot dose by starting low and working your way up
- don't dose higher than you're comfortable with
- before you drop, ask yourself if you really wish to commit to a journey with unpredictable outcome
- only drop if the answer is yes, even when it might lead to very difficult experiences
- look at psychs as tools; you can use them to your advantage if they present you with a difficult trip

I think one of the most important things besides what has already been said here is to not necessarily treat psychedelics as you would other drugs. With a lot of other classes of chemicals, you more or less know what to expect, and things are typically "as they seem". With psychedelics, there is some predictability depending upon the particular substance, but overall you should never have an ego so big that you think you know exactly what to expect. That is not to say that you shouldn't do your research, because dose, mindset and physical setting are incredibly important, and these are the things which you have control over, but you can still never really know what is going to happen until you're in the thick of it. Go with wherever your mind takes you, and don't be afraid if it is headed to a dark place, because all you can do is think your way through it and more often than not, you will come out all the better for it.

Most importantly is to relax and have no expectations.
Sometimes you can't control which direction the drug is going to take you, and you have to be 100% okay with that.
You're in it for the ride anyhow
Honestly most of the techniques for being able to enjoy your trip comes from experience itself.
Not all the advice in the world can completely prepare you for the twists and turns psychedelics can throw at you, but having experienced them; whether you succeeded or not in coming out on top, will prepare you the most.
The most I ever learnt from how to properly enjoy psychedelics came from my only real bad trip.
I'm not advising you to go and throw yourself in a bad trip, but they can be just as helpful if not more as a beautiful trip

Another important thing is to truly enjoy the psychedelic experience.
Many people have lots of uncomfortable trips because they are forcing themselves to attempt to like psychedelics because of all the wonderful things people have said about them, they just aren't some peoples cup of tea

So what? There are places in my mind I wish I had never seen.
Your trouble is that you think you know a place, before you get to it. The first trouble is, you will never actually be anywhere if you think about where you are going. The second trouble is, if you think about where you are going then you are already there. The third trouble is, you do not.
What you need to do is realize that all dreams are a reality, basically. There is no future or past. Energy is constant. The tiger you are chasing is in front of you. You are all there is to experience. There is no way to cheat or cheapen and time does not tarnish.
I show you many veils with nothing beneath them, but you are the one wearing the mask.
...
On a personal level, you need to think a lot more about your decisions and realize that many other people have been where you are. They all know. The biggest trouble is that you have no idea what you are going to find. The rest is... stop reading this and imagine what comes next.

I have no idea what you imagined would be here but that is your goal. The time you waited to read this is your time. You have my assurance these two things are not worth trading in for any amount of perported knowledge about the self. The self is only around because it slips nicley between the cracks. It is knowledge in a very limited sense. It is akin to steering a boat while out in the water. Compare that with the knowledge that others share, like how to build a boat, and then you see that knowing this "everything" is just a tiny bit more than knowing nothing at all. Big secret. Each person represents an exponential amount of things you could never realize, no matter how long you stand in the river.
There are many different stories that fill your whole view and many different ways of telling each one.
I can offer spiritual guidance. There are at least 103 elements. The embryo is the median size of everything in the universe. There are many things found in higher and lower dimensions, but both of these you can access by mathematics. The truth is everywhere you are not, and once you are comfortable with that, which seems greater, what comes to you or what you chase?

There was a game me and my brothers were fond of playing, the older angels would hold the young ones down and not allow them to get back up until they stopped trying. They still enjoy playing it.
