How can ADD meds affect your body or brain?

In terms of neurotoxicity this is the order I'd generally give you

No neurotoxicity in therapeutic doses BUT possible Neurotoxicity in high doses
Methylphenidate (Concerta, Ritalin, etc.)
Dexmethylphenidate (Focalin)
Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse)
Dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Dextrostat, approx 3/4 of Adderall)
Levoamphetamine (approx 1/4 of Adderall)
Atomoxetine (Strattera)

HOWEVER, because Dextromethamphetamine is prescribed as an ADHD med, I can tell you it has neurotoxic effects at virtually any dose
Dextromethamphetamine (Desoxyn)

Keep in mind, just because something has neurotoxicity, (dextromethamphetamine), I doubt 5mg a day over the course of several years would have substantial negative effects on someone...

EDIT: As far as the body goes (excluding brain)... I'd say all ADHD meds in therapeutic doses (excluding desoxyn), are pretty much safe, only physical effects are the side effects

I did 40mg methylphenidate (concerta, ritalin) instead of extended release, I had instant release.
My heart has never been the same (55kg) that was 2 weeks ago, I still get palpitations.

the comedown was SO scary, never ever ever ever again!
:(

I didn't feel much euphoria, if any.
I was just jumpy as hell, with 190BPM.

I think you need a higher dose for the euphoria to kick in, ritalin and concerta are the most popular perscrubed ones.
stratera and adderral are the other ones, which are often used after ritalin/concerta have been tested.

Methylphenidate apparently gives you a "cocaine like high" I just felt like energy pumped x10000.
Horrible horrible horrible!
