Heroin How bad is Black Tar for you, really?

I grew up on the East Coast and was only recently introduced to Black Tar having moved West. Going from relatively pure brown powder to stuff near the beach that I swear had to have been cut with sand, none of it has been as bad as tar.

After only a few weeks, all 4 major veins in my inner elbows are 90% collapsed. I have stopped at the very last minute to give them some chance to recover. Some still have a fighting chance.

Having to IV 1g at a time, 1cc of water barely does it justice. The thick goo in result is like molasses. I always was under the impression that IV'ing Heroin is relatively safer than pills, but they can't be talking about this junk. What really makes up black tar? I can't imagine more than 15-20% of black tar to be diamorphine, if that much, what are we putting in our bodies? I cringe at putting this foul black liquid in my veins and it has taken a major toll.

So to summarize, what the hell is this. And how do y'all cope?
 
Damn.. are you sure all black tar is like this? Surely some of it must be better than this.. I mean tar can be like 60-70 percent right?? Does everyone out there that uses tar normally use 1 G of it at a time? That seems like a fuckton of material to inject..

Shit if its really that bad and you jusy absolutley have to keep using you should move back east or to the midwest, or have someone bring/send you some powder..
 
It's is obviously junk tar. No one, and I mean no one could do 10 (.1 mg) balloons of the stuff in Ohio.

almost all of the tar ive seen in cali (socal and norcal) has been terrible compared to east coast stuff... only saw decent stuff in cali once or twice... there is almost no point in doing the shit...
 
Acetylcodeine is something to worry about with H. At least when you're injecting.
 
GlassAss: As far as I know there is 'good' tar. I've had only few comparisons and this isn't much better than the last.

Cocorosie: My tolerance is fairly high, 1.5g of good east coast or the equiv of 1g oxycodone daily.

SmokeTrails: It's still more cost effective than oxy.

Tsukasa: Is acetylated codeine only in tar? Or is it common to all forms?

Tar varies wildly in quality. In Seattle, I had to do close to a gram to get high with almost no tolerance. And yes, that is a LOT of goop to shoot, especially when you know most of it is shoe polish or god-knows-what.

Here in Texas, a tenth of that will knock you on your ass.

And they look and smell the same! :\
 
Think about it buddy. just by the sound of "Black Tar" you can tell it is bad for you. and then shooting it in your veins? use your noodle.

Before i would i agree with you, but we have to consider how high his tolerance is... and if you want to even get a half decent buzz, esp at that tolerance level, you really need to bang it... and injecting 1g of tar... :!

Move back east coast dude!

Doesn't tar have a fair bit of codeine, morphine and other trace opiates as well?
 
1) Diacetylmorphine content in Heroin ('x%') is worthless information. Heroin contains a number of other chemicals (Black Tar is notoriously high in 6-MonoActeylMorphine, which is a Diamorphine-like compound on its own), as well as Morphine, and additive cuts like Procaine, Quinine, etc.

1b) Acetylcodeine is present in all forms of illicit, black market Heroin (any Heroin made from Opium will have Acetylcodeine).

2) Black Tar is notorious for carrying harmful bacteria and virii. Not long ago, staph infections and nectrotizing fasciitis went around BTH users. It is fertile ground for disease.

3) BTH is manufactured similar to all other illicit Heroin (SouthEast Asia-Burma, SouthWest Asia-Afghanistan), only it skips steps. The result is a high volume of plant material, side reactions, etc.

4) It is potentially much worse for you than powder Heroin manufactured in the Golden Triangle or Golden Crescent.

5) It is still Heroin Hydrochloride. The same ingredient in #4; only with a lot of other shit mixed together. It is not good for Chasing without modifications. Keep in mind Mexican Heroin comes in two varieties: BTH and brown powder. If you are lucky you will find brown powder Mexican Heroin.

Abscesses, infections (bacterial and viral), collapsed veins, sepsis/shock (from injecting plant material), scar tissue, etc are all much easier to contract with BTH than powder.
 
However; the all important disease, HIV, is MUCH harder to catch with black tar due to the mechanics. But you arn't sharing needles anyway, are you?

do you know how bad black tar is for you... seriously do not inject it unless you want to get a step closer to having your arm amputated.

In England black tar is only for smoking, I dont know anyone who'd be mad enough to inject that sh1t
 
Tar can be good. I've had tar in santa cruz/marin county that I'd compare point for point with most of the powder over here on the east.

If you're booting tar though, what you need is a micron/wheel filter. They can be ordered online easily, and believe me your body will thank you.
 
Yuck..I wouldnt even have started using dope if I didnt live on the east coast or had to use tar.

This is pretty much the funniest thing I've laid my eyes on in a while.
Seriously, that's like saying brussel sprouts are bad for you because the name sounds gross.

I don't see a reason for tar to be 'so much worse' for you than any other dope. Tar is less-refined than powder but the active ingredient is the still there. The problems associated with heroin come from the cuts, injection complications, unsanitary practice, and lack of filtration. Powder is just as easy, if not, easier to cut than tar.

According to Wikipedia (a wonderful source, I know):
Users who intravenously inject black tar heroin are at higher risk of venous sclerosis (a condition where the veins narrow and harden, making injection there nearly impossible) than users of powder heroin.
