How does the Opiate withdrawal feels like? I'm not trying opiates I'm just curious about how it compares to benzo wd's, also: which one do you think is the worst? Personally the worst about benzos it's the duration.
Please be as specific as you can, specially with duration and most direct symptoms. I think this might me a good warning to people who's thinking about trying drugs.
I only have one thing to say about benzos: Stay away from them, try safer downers (look into gabapentin or pregabalin if you are anxious). It simply isn't worth it, take my word for it.

Benzo withdrawals are worse than opiate withdrawals, that's for sure.

The duration depends on the opiate you're talking about, for example, the medium duration opiates (hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc), the physical symptoms usually last 2-4 days and the mental symptoms (craving, depression, boredom, etc) last much longer. Heroin withdrawal is similar, however I've never experienced it.

Longer-acting opiates, methadone, for example, has a much longer withdrawal syndrome.

By direct symptoms, I'm assuming you mean the primary physical and mental symptoms, of which there are many...

-sweating
-chills
-stomach cramping, pain, the shits
-restless legs
-anxiety
-shaking (thinks restless hands!)
-runny nose, overactive tear ducts
-headache
-general depression and boredom
-drug craving

many, many more but I wanted to get this posted for you :)

If you have anxiety you should try CBT. All drugs are just band-aids and will just stop working. Address the root issue..

I've tried CBT and psychoanalisis, I'm giving another try to Gestalt though, not giving up.
Thanks for posting! How long do they last (the opiates wd's)?

Benzo withdrawals can last forever and the symptoms, (the most annoying ones) are:
-Insomnia
-Muscle Pain
-Extreme Anxiety, almost constant terror
-GI symptoms (diahrrea, constipation, nauseas, abdominal pain, etc.)
-Headache and pain everywhere, almost like fybromialgia.
-Possibly Depression.

Yeah I'm 9 months off a 10 year benzo habit and I'm still not right..

The worst of the physical symptoms are within the first 3 days for opiates. When I kicked a long-term high dose morphine habit I was physically sick for the better part of 2 weeks..

If you are a long term user you get to deal with PAWS as well which can last months (depression, anxiety, cognitive issues)
