how addictive is coke?

so... im colombian and havent tried coke yet despite having tried many hard drugs. the reason ive stayed away is because i hav a very addictive personality and ive heard its extremely mentally addictive.

so before i try it and possibly go on an unhealthy binge, i wanna know how addictive it really is (obviously im looking for more in depth answers then "very addictive")

of everything ive done, top 5 in addictive potential for me (all things considered: availability, price, perceived negative effects ect) are: dxm, nitrous, tobacco, molly, weed.

are any of these comparable to the addictive potential of coke? i kno its expensive and relatively rare. i love cheap drugs so hopefully the price deters me (dxm is always "free" for the borderline klepto that is myself, which is prolly why its up there on the top 5). so to all coke veterans: yay or nay? (pun intended)

Cocaine is the most fiendish drug ever. When you sit down and start doing it, as long as the supply is there you will think of nothing and do nothing but sit and do it over and over and over and over until you run out and when you run out you go into panic mode trying to find more. That's how addictive cocaine is.
In this aspect, nothing can compare to cocaine in it's fiendishness - not heroin/morphine, not methamphetamine, not any other amphetamine, not any barbiturate, not alcohol, not nicotine, nothing!

Pure cocaine is highly addictive, one of the most addictive substances ever.

Just think of the crack epidemic (1984-1990) and what it did to an entire nation (the USA). Crack decimated almost every major US city from NYC to LA and everything in between.

Here read up on it

We're all different but when I used to have a lot of coke around I did it maybe 4 days a week for several hours for a couple months but thats just because I had a lot of it around. Once it was gone I didn't want it anymore. It was more of a "im bored" thing for me. But that's just me.

I still do it once in a while, never got addicted to it. But, ya, coke is fiendish, when you do it you haave to keep doing lines until you tell yourself to stop. For me it's pretty easy to say stop for most it isn't. I just start to feel like shit and shakey and sketchy then I just say fuck it. Grab some benzos to pop before your last line and you'll come down smoothly and not have its fiendish pull.

Nobody can tell you for sure. It depends mostly on the individual. Plenty of people know how to keep their coke use under control.

That being said, those people are very strong willed.

It all depends on the person. Me personally, i get addicted to downer pills a lot easier ( benzo, opiate).
For me cocaine wasn't real addictive, i have done it like 10 times life time. If it is laid out in front of you it can be addictive in the way that you will keep re dosing when it wears off. But once you run out of it , it all depends on the person if they will go out and get more cocaine. For me , i would say cocaine is not addictive.

I'm also more of a downer person, but I've got a good deal of experience with cocaine, I've been using it about 2-4 times a month lately. It's EXTREMELY FIENDISH, once you start doing it for the night, you will want to redose and redose again and again until it's all gone. However, I feel like after a night of heavy coke use, I have NO desire to touch it again for quite a while.

Honestly, even good coke is pretty overrated...yeah, feels good, feels great combined with booze (this is extremely dangerous, look up cocaethylene for more info) but it's definitely something I can take or leave. It's expensive, good coke is extremely rare where I live...but the addictiveness factor really depends and changes person-to-person. Best thing you can do is read around on here and erowid about it, and then once you're educated about it's effects and dangers, make your decision.

I've done coke many many times...for the night yeah, once you start you just want more and more. One line will never be enough for a night of cocaine but once you pass out and wake up the urge is gone. I've done it many days in a row as well but each time i wake up it's out of my mind...my week long binges of cocaine stem from consecutive concerts and parties...not cravings. It's addictiveness is short lived, at least for me...opiates triumph in terms of addiction.

After a good nights rest cocaine is out of my mind...now compare that to a long term opiate binge...blow a few hundred mg of oxycodone, wake up...what do you want? More oxycodone...till the sun sets again.

It sucks to comedown from coke so the only thing you want to do is finish the damn bag.. coke makes me feel dirty afterward and the moral hangover of staying up til daylight to finish off a bag then wasting the day away sleeping is no fun... I think its a waste of money with all the negatives that go along with it but hey to each his own. In my opinion its more addictive on a short term basis.

Give me $100 worth of opiates vs. blow any day :)

i kno exactly what you mean, because i get the same thing from nitrous. perhaps thats why whip its are called "hippy crack." it sounds like coke is without a doubt the most fiendish, and for me that drug is nitrous, but the addiction is fairly easy to handle, especially considering that whip its can be bought in any smoke shop, unlike coke.

from what you guys are saying, it sounds like i can handle it, so ima try and have a fun night with the white bitch.

how much is a fun nights worth in grams is my second question?

Cocaine is most definitely the most addictive drug on a short term basis.

It's fiendish!!!

I don't really think we can answer this one for you very well...it depends on how cut it is, really. I'd say to gauge it based on how you're feeling, but for the first time especially, I wouldn't go over .5g in one night. If it's of decent quality, you'll probably need even less than that.

What a dumb fucking statement.

Nobody else on this forum is going to tell you what you can and can't handle, because guess what: This is the internet.

Try it if you think YOU can handle it. Not because people tell you that you might. Listening to other people is just one of the many ways addictions get started. Not saying that some who posted here aren't knowledgeable, but nobody really has a say in how you'll kid will react to coke. Next thing you know, you end up addicted and immediately run to blame posters on Bluelight. I doubt this will happen though. Most people with a modicum of experience with coke will tell you it's terribly fiendish. Most people will snort until it's all gone.

Do it if you want to. I doubt it will be more than half cocaine anyway.

Voxide, I don't wanna derail this thread, but the point of BL is to ask questions and research your own inquiries. The OP asked us for advice, and we gave it...coke isn't a psychedelic, I don't think it's a matter of "if someone can handle it" or not...it's more of whether someone actually enjoys the high from it or not. We can talk about how each of us have individually handled it, and give advice based on our own experiences.

What a dumb fucking statement.

to those without the intellectual capability of correctly interpreting my language, it mite sound like a dumb fucking statement, but ur the one who sounds dumb to me. SOUNDS is the key word, i understand the shadow of doubt in a situation where i dont have personal experience. while no one is the same (a fact that any idiot could have picked up just by reading this thread) people are essentially the same (again, this mite sound dumb to those not smart enough to interpret it correctly, the key word is ESSENTIALLY)

so in other words, no, it is not in fact dumb to make certain assumptions based on other people's testimony, despite the fact that everybodys special (which is another way of saying nobody is special and that people are ESSENTIALLY the same)

I definitely did lots of coke when I had several grams of it lying around for a month or so. Well, not even "lots" really, just a few bumps a day usually, like a tenth of a gram or less (this was good yayo). But then it disappeared and I haven't bought any since. Except for a line here and there I've only really done blow in two month-long stretches.

IMO? Not nearly as fiendy as opiates or certain uppers like MDPV. But if you like being able to instantly feel like you are the shit for an hour, coke is probably a recipe for disaster

On a scale of 1-10 it is very addictive. If you know you are an addict then leave it alone. There are some things that cannot be unseen.
