How About Some Folk?

can anyone recommend some good songs to start learning the whole 2 finger folk style walking bass line thing on guitar? I'm trying to pick it up but i don't know any of these artists or where to start

William Tyler is a nice fresh take on earlier "American Primitive" folk music. Similar style to Basho.

There seems to be somewhat of a revival of this sort of music recently. Young guitarists following in the footsteps of the pioneers before them, Basho, Fahey, Kottke etc. And even in the more raga styled folk like that of Peter Walker (who recently released an old tape from 1970 titled, "Has Anybody Seen Our Freedoms?" which is really worth a listen. I'd not heard anything like it before.)

I stumbled across this fantastic blog which is rich in modern psych-folk, primitive acoustic etc. I'm sure it will interest some of you.

The mixtapes are a good place to start if you're on a quest for some new stuff, they're free to download too.
