Hot Chiles: Psychoactive or Not?

funkee said:
But the fact is, snorting it, let alone putting one particle in your nose risks closing off your throat.

Taking one drop of that and putting it on your tongue feels like taking two sledgehammers slamming your tongue from two sides. Then forget about smelling anything for 3 days, and tasting anything for 2 days.

I dunno about that, I can eat 1,000,000 scoville unit extracts like ketchup, and in 30-45 minutes I can taste food just fine again.

true. it always goes away, just takes time. some peppers seem to burn longer than others for some reason. i dont know why that would be, but it seems that way to me. some even sneak up on you while others immediatly rape you. lol. i guess its kind of like pot, each plant is a lil (or bigtime) different. got different personalities.
peace

So does anyone know the exact type of chilis that produce this? Just curious to know !!!

i've got 20 bucks to anyone who buys that shit and makes a vid of them snorting a line of it

I don't know. In the description the person was handling it like it was quite dangerous. Even a speck was supposed to burn.

Sort of like when people talk about the production of carfentanayl (sp?) and they need the same safety equipment as if their were making VX gas. Potent items; not for amateurs.

Doesn't mean that video wouldn't be funny though. =D

that sounds like one hell of an experience! wow
It was definitely an experience... not a very pleasant one since I was in tremendous pain, but an interesting one in hindsight. The hallucinations provided complete relief until I jerked and was jolted back awake - endorphins are pretty powerful.

you ever see Steve-O from jackass blow a line of wasabi... that was insane, i can't imagine the pain that must have caused

yes i saw the jackass movie, that was pretty good... but i think steve-o exaggerates some times to make it look worse than it actually is. his whole schtick is pure shock value. if someone goes, "eh, thats not too bad". he's ruined.

meh, id still take a hit of it ;)

errm... i accidentally snorted a line of something with capsicum in it once... MY EYE WAS BLEEDING!! haha no but it did sting quite a bit and i had to snort a lot of water after until mucous production kicked in and I could sneeze the rest out... unpleasant to say the least. spicing foods with capsicum is a cultural tradition for me and there is a noticeable presence of endorphins while enjoying a tall glass of water afterwards.... what an obscure thread this is

I had a friend of mine who took some cream cheese and made hot sauce cream cheese balls.

She filled them with this extraordinarily hot sauce (which I can't remember the name of at the moment) and she wrapped them up and washed two down with water.

It avoided the burn in her mouth and about 20 minutes later, she said that she was euphoric to the point of a mild to moderate dose of opiates and she had minor visual distortions. The feeling lasted for roughly 2 hours before wearing off.

She repeated it a couple more times, each time receiving the same rush. So did two of her friends.

She doesn't recommend it though because she said she was ready to scream when she went number two the next day.

Yeah, habanero peppers, particularly the scotch bonnet variety, are incredibly hot.

This was scotch bonnet, jalapeno, and regular habanero sauce. She said just getting a drop on her skin burned.

god i just bought some of daves insanity sauce (50,000-180,000 scoville units) and wow i am still feeling it. The initial burn was pretty damn hot, but it subsided and right now it feels like im on a low dose of opiates. This is great.
I think i found my new "drug" of choice haha.
Isnt as much of as a body-high, its more mental, i was just giggiling at nothing earlier.

^I have some of that sauce. It's so hot I've had the same bottle for a little over a years and it's only half empty. I thought it was in the range of 1 million scovilles, though. You are talking about the one that says "the original hottest sauce in the universe", aren't you?
edit- no wait, the 1 million scoville shit was this stuff that seriosuly had the consistancy of tar. It was black and thick as hell. I got it in mexico, it was the hottest shit I've ever had%)

put some of that shit in a cream cheese ball and wash it down... see how high you get off of it.

I was eating a bunch of that red hot sauce they have at Chinese restaurants the other night and I swear to god I got giggly and euphoric after eating it.

Possible drug abuse deterrent
Clifford Woolf, the Richard J. Kitz Professor of Anesthesia Research at Harvard Medical School, has suggested using capsaicin to deter abuse of certain extended-release drugs such as OxyContin and Ritalin.[6] When taken as prescribed, opioid prescription drugs such as OxyContin or stimulant drugs such as Adderall XR release their active chemical over time, but when crushed and snorted, taken as a suppository, chewed, or injected, the larger than normal dosage is absorbed all at once and a much stronger effect is produced that can be highly addictive and dangerous due to the higher risk of overdose. Woolf has argued that adding capsaicin into the capsules would be a safe way to deter abuse. A person taking the capsule in the prescribed way (i.e., swallowing it whole) would suffer no ill effects from the additive. However, a person crushing it would expose the irritant. Anyone then swallowing it, snorting it, or injecting it would be exposed to the full power of the chemical. "Imagine snorting an extract of 50 jalapeño peppers and you get the idea," Woolf said in an interview with the Harvard University Gazette. As of 2006 , Woolf's proposal is still in the preliminary stages of development and the additive has not yet entered the production stage.

^ Good news for opioid lovers, NOW WITH BUILT-IN POTENTIATORS hahaha people will still eat them no doubt.

I'd like to conduct a survey of people who abuse opiates, find out what % likes spicy food. I bet it's 87%....

"A person taking the capsule in the prescribed way (i.e., swallowing it whole) would suffer no ill effects from the additive"
yeah except for the explosive diahrea and extreme stomache pain and nausea that pure capaicin has to offer
