Basically, the burning sensation from hot chiles releases endorphins which bind to your opiate receptors which in some cases (or after eating a lot of chiles) will produce a short lasting state of pain relief and euphoria.

I have experienced what I would call a minor state of euphoria after accidentally spilling a lot of habanero sauce on my taco. Subsequent times, I only got a runny nose and watery eyes. There might be some euphoria here, but it might blocked out by the burning sensation.

So now what do you think? Has anyone ever got decent effects from doing this?

I work at Zaxby's its like a southern chicken food chain. We have this sause there called Insane sause, whenever someone starts working there they drink 1oz. of this stuff (its extremely hot, much worse than tabasco (R) ). My nose and eyes ran and my mouth was on fire and I was miserable for like an hour. NO EUPHORIA/

hot chilies get you high the same way as getting your nipples pierced gets you high. it HURTS LIKE SHIT and then your body releases endorphans that make the pain go away.

I've had an experience kinda like that twice. Both times it happened from the exact same ingredient. Theres this Mongolian BBQ place I love, and one time when I went there I decided to add a large amount of chili oil to my bowl. Its this spicey oil with lots of chili seeds (I think thats what they are) in it. Anyways the shit is not unpleasantly hot, but it does add some heat. By the end of 2 plates, I seriously felt fucked up. I was thinking "what the hell is wrong with me" to myself as I sat in the restraunt feeling almost drunk and on a low dose of opiates. No euphoria though, but I was certainly fucked up. My driving was even effected noticably, and at one point on the interstate I forgot where we were and thought we were miles more down the road than we really were. Strange.

This happened twice, about 1 year apart though it wasn't as strong the second time. I know it probably sounds lame that some guy is claiming to have gotten fucked up on Chili oil, but I swear it happened and it was not very subtle. BTW the effects lasted maybe an hour at the most.

its like 200-300 dollars a bottle. Should offer a bit more than 20 so people can at least afford the damn thing.

god damn...didnt realize...well imbroke, as with any other person onthis board if i get any money i spend it on drugs, so 20 is as high as i'll go. but if anyone else wants to add to the pool im in

soundphaRm: o srry I r stoopid

haha yea, I'll put in 20 to see someone even rail a small line of that. I saw a vid of someone snorting powdered wasabi before, but this will take the cake.

I almost bought a bottle of the 16 million reserve on ebay, but I missed the end of the auction, it sold for $115 or so, which is quite a good deal.

But the fact is, snorting it, let alone putting one particle in your nose risks closing off your throat.

Taking one drop of that and putting it on your tongue feels like taking two sledgehammers slamming your tongue from two sides. Then forget about smelling anything for 3 days, and tasting anything for 2 days.

I was researching capsaicin at chem suppliers, and suprisingly everything I found was more expensive than $115 for a gram (the 16m reserve).

This whole idea (the cap causing endorphin release) is actually used in some chronic train treatment protocols. It's usually cases like RSD/CRPS or neuropathic pain. What they do is use the Capzaicin-Z (sic?) lotion- you can get it over the counter. I think the original purpose of the OTC Cap-Z was arthritis treatment.

It is supposed to do two things.... In cases of RSD/CRPS/neuropathy where touch sensation is really screwed up- (soft touching can feel like a hammer, cold can feel like fire)- it helps the patient deal with increasing amounts of sensation. They start with a tiny amount and gradually increase the amount of lotion they can tolerate at one time. Similar to developing a drug tolerance, you are trying to increase your pain tolerance. Secondly, you get the endorphin release which should also help the patient- especially after they were just forced to run hot peppers on whatever part of their body is in pain!

All I can tell you is that in my experience, it just hurts like a bitch and the 1 or 2 endorphin molecules that may be released are overpowered by the two million pain neurons firing at once. It is helpful for some people though.
