I'm sorry you think I don't have a heart Kishka (and others). I do care and I hope your friend is okay. I'm not trying to put you down, I just want to keep things level-headed. I don't see any good coming from all this wild speculation about what could have been on the blotters. Unless you send them for lab testing, then who knows. At this stage, with what you've reported, I see no reason why they
wouldn't be DOI.
What vendor in their right mind is going to put fentanyl on blotters they are selling as DOI? If it did happen, it would have to have been a mistake of grotesquely negligent proportions. Sure, we've had the Haupt bromo-dragonfly disaster where it was misrepresented as 2C-B-FLY, but that was a mistake I can understand (although unacceptable) given the naming and chemical similarity of the compounds involved, and the communication problems between Chinese-speaking labs and western vendors. And there were multiple victims in that case and even the vendor himself died. We haven't heard anything about this vendor other than this one report.
If it
was fentanyl then she wouldn't have had a seizure and instead would just have gone straight to coma. If it was another DOx or 5-MeO-AMT, it wouldn't be potent enough to cause a typical "overdose". If it was an NBOMe, then it wouldn't have caused any problems unless she had specifically held the blotter in her mouth for half an hour without swallowing. Bromo-dragonfly is not on the market and hasn't really been since Haupt, and I don't see why anyone would go to the lengths of producing it again to sell alongside compounds such as DOI .
I see no reason to speculate about the identity of the compound. What's important at this stage is being there for your friend. Wait for toxicology to come back with results if you want to know the identity of the compound.
Jesusgreen pretty much nailed all this in his post about the reasons behind remaining rational. It's not about having no heart, it's just about trying to cut through the crap and make harm reduction the priority. If you think you have a sketchy blotter, approach it with due care.
I'm sorry you're having a bad time, and I wish you and your friend all the best.
Just wanted to take this oppurtunity to advise against the buying of blotters with research chemicals on them (even lsd blotters are iffy).
It's far more accurate to buy a quantity of the chemical, accurately weigh it using a quality mg scale, dilute it in an edible solvent and store it in an oral syringe.
I don't think a proper allergy taste can be performed using a piece of blotter, as it is likely to be laid unevenly especially in today's 'make all the money and run' research vendor mentality.
Be safe everyone.
I wholeheartedly agree, and I've argued this point before. It's a bad idea to purchase blotters from vendors as a pre-dosed method of drug delivery. In the age of NBOMes and other potent compounds they are an unacceptable medium unless you actually dose the blotters yourself with a known quantity of compound. You can never know how much compound was really dosed on to the blotter, unless you extract the compound and re-weigh it yourself, which is just impractical for most everyone and defeats the purpose of buying it on blotter in the first place.
The
only safe way to do it is to buy the compound itself and weigh it up properly and prepare a liquid solution for accurate dosing.
