HORROR MOVIES ONLY

Can't think off hand but the Icelandic film LAMB is quite disturbing in bits , prob not classed as a horror though.havnt looked through whole thread but the INNOCENTS with Deborah Kerr and Polanskis trilogy centred around closterphobecic apartments including Rosemary's baby but there's literally hundreds to mention.not to much mention of foreign horror films I believe South Korea ,Japan and Scandinavian productions are far superior to American films which they mostly just copy from other countries .ringu for example ,there litteraly hundreds of films holloywood have rehashed with terrible results .horror in America died in the 80s im afraid .

Strictly in the demon possession category --- three of which are set at a police station "Malevolent" and "Deliver us from Evil" both are what I'd call Action/Exorcism movies which I personally like. Especially when the victims "aren't real people" to quote a character in resevoir dogs. Nefarious also set in a jail/precinct.

Malevolent
Exorcist (series) but 1, 3, and 'believer' I think the newest one
The Old Ways
Talk to me
The exorcism of Emily Rose
The Rite
The possesion / the exorcism(or somethin similar w/Russel Crowe)
The Atticus Experiment
The possession of Micheal King
the possession of Molly Hartley
The last exorcism *1 and 2 (2 is derivative)
Late Night with the devil
The Lazarus effect
Autopsy of Jane Doe
Anything for Jackson
Nefarious
The Devil inside
The Fallen (with Denzel Washington is pretty much a possession movie)
The Vatican Experiments
The Pope's Exorcist (also with Russel Crowe lol)
Deliver us from Evil
Exorcism of god
Jennifers Body
Shaman
The last shift
See No Evil ( if you can't handle watching kids *pretend* to get gunned down pass)
The Ritual (Pacino 2025)
Weapons
Hangman (I'm counting it)
Prey for the Devil
Bring her Back
Weapons
Tarot (kind of fits theme) as much as say a djinn movie
Traumatika

That is Smokeys list of recommended possession movies -- I could name as many bad ones just as easily. Like the Ed and Lorraine Warren based movies (which all don't suck) but once you learn ED was a "Self proclaimed Demonologist" and they were both living with some underage girl Ed was banging - I guess I had hope in them for awhile than they turned out to they obvious charletons(Sp,) phonies.

Ill add more when I remember more lol
Baghead is a good new one

ill have to check it out thank you! -- there was a new one I saw a few days ago but I forgot the title. Being a man in the US (and Catholic) very few horror movies hit me the way possession movies do.

I be like "Why don't one of you have access to a gun" "Why do you go to the killer instead of put your back against a solid wall and point said gun at the entrance"

Nah I wasn't trying to stir anything up (This time) just a pet peeve I have with most horror movies. I almost watched 'baghead' last night but I didn't get possession from the description I will still check it though as well as the boy. (as I think I have seen like everything) Happy Gilmore 2 was decent - certainly not the first one (Nor a horror movie soo)

Abigail was pretty good (vampire movie; bit lighthearted) --- Time to stir the pot. I actually liked "Cabin in the Woods" (also lighthearted for horror)

“Talk To Me” is purely about possession.
There was one about a witch which was creepy af, forgot the name tho (it’s about possession as well)
Is "Talk to me" the one with the hand --- if so I meant to add it to the list but coulnd't recall the title. -- oh no it did make the list as #3 or somethin (not that they are ranked, just 'worth watching' if you are into the possession theme)

I edited some more good ones in there.

I haven't seen but maybe y'all can find a download link or something, is too expensive to rent or buy

is not horror, is not a slasher.. which obviously am not into, has tones of.. HORROR which is something else, is a kafkesque/arthouse/adventure film and isn't recognized

guess it was either a one time hit at a festival and x amount of people saw it and that was and who was lucky maybe bought a limited copy and kept for himself.

am not into these anymore but i'd like to see at least first 40m of it to get an idea.

That looks dope.

Last Breath looks interesting as well, good cast.

Baghead was good thanks for the suggestion... Just saw Shaman (Which falls into the possession category) it was decent forsure. (Ill add it to the list lol)

It follows was also good thanks whoever tossed that out

You can't be serious about horror unless you've seen the original Hammer horror films
  • Dracula (also known as Horror of Dracula) (1958)
  • The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958)
  • The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
  • The Man Who Could Cheat Death (1959)
  • The Mummy (1959)
  • The Brides of Dracula (1960)
  • The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll (1960)
  • The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)

Good you will get a kick out of this than -- I was once speaking to a friend on the phone and he said "You gotta go back and read the oldschool writers, you know the real classics" --- "Yea Yea Hugo wells, Mary Shelly, bram stroker, etc" --- Pregnant pause -- "Yea exactly like your stephen king's and *I promise he said* R.L Stine", I think dean coontz was in there --- You understand how I felt I at that moment I am sure.
