Ok... So I had a post about how I had an amazing roll off of lots of rolls... Well now, I am just too terified to sleep.

Last night (1day after I rolled) I had some pretty bad dreams. And I usually don't dream that often. And these were very vivid.

Tonight I fall asleep within a min. I feel like I'm in my bathroom and am ODing on something. I walk a couple feet and stumble to the floor and try to move and call for help but I can't. I realize that it is sleep paralysis after about a minute and completely wake up. This felt just awful and too real. I had only fallen asleep 2 minutes ago.

I try to sleep one more time. After this I just don't have it in me to go back to sleep. 1st I felt like I took ecstasy and it actually felt as if I was rolling for real. After about 30 mins, I am at my grandmothers house and she's there and I hugged her telling her how much I love her (she looked just as she did about 5 years ago before she died). And then we drive to someones house and I sleep and something happens where I almost die. I go to some hotel that gets blown over in strong winds and almost die. My family and I go to a ski lift to try to get to some boat? Well I almost die. We get to the boat, and I have already seen a few people die. The boat crashes and cap sizes and I almost die. There's a plane we have to catch, we get on and take off over the open sea. We take off, get hit down by a giant sea monster, and swim to the surface after almost drowning, to be stuck in open water with huge sea creatures (like 4 football fields long) and I tell my mom I love her, then I get stuck in sleep paralysis, and then I wake up.... Been asleep for 2 hours, and felt like I accidentally killed, and was killed so many times. And these dreams were way to real.

I can't take it! It's like hell trying to sleep. Is there anything I can do?? I don't even want to roll ever again...

Btw, a lot more happened in these dreams. They had a lot of detail to them, and it seemed as if I was in them for weeks... :(

I always get sleep paralysis after rolling. It usually only lasts for 1-2 nights, so you should be okay tonight. I can definitely understand your fear of going to sleep though! Been there many times myself!

Just remember that they're only dreams, and the nightmares and even the sleep paralysis can't harm you at all. Doesn't make it any less scary when it happens, but it shouldn't deter you from trying to sleep.

Good luck :) <3

it sounds like you overdid it when you did "lots of rolls". Now, you are suffering the consequences.

If you just avoid any recreational drugs for a wile, eat well and exercise, your sleep will eventually return to normal.

OMG, It's terrifying.

Serotonin affects sleep as you may know. Try 5-HTP?

+1

When I get totally obliterated & use insane amounts of serotonin I have strange sleeping habits as well. I get brain zaps, jerking arms & legs in sleep, hands flex uncontrollably, bad dreams & sometimes a combination of all. I had a dream the other night after I partied & I woke myself up swinging my arms involuntarily! Scared the shit outta me! :) hahaha!

Here's my advice (or what's worked for me):

Don't take as much X

Drink lots of water during & after

Multi-Vitamin + 5-HTP the next morning

Are you on any medications like SSRI's?

My sleep paralysis has never been drug related, just random I guess. I always take magnesium and try to take vitamin c and e before rolling. I normally take 5-HTP for the following 4 or 5 days. I find it brings me up to, or near baseline.

i would try to take a 5-htp before going to bed. ive definitely been scared of sleeping after rolling before too. worrying about it will probably only make it worse though.

you probably overdid it- but taking a bunch of supplements, eating right, exercising, and trying not to worry about it can only help in my opinion. im sure itll pass.

I've never experienced sleep paralysis but I have studied it before. If you experience it, it's more common when falling asleep on your back. Try sleeping on your side and see if that helps. I've also read that getting into lucid dreaming can help you learn to take control of your dreams and combat sleep paralysis as well. The number one thing to do when experiencing it is to try and calm yourself down and realize that it's happening. Most the time, it happens because your body paralyzes itself when you go to sleep, so you don't thrash around or sleep walk. Sleep paralysis occurs when you wake up, but your body is still asleep and the part of your brain that creates dreams is still active, making you unable to move but still in a dream-like state... yet awake. It's a lot like a reverse sleep walking. Very strange stuff.

Other than not sleeping on your back, I too suggest 5-htp. I take it before bed for a week after rolling, or when there's a lot of stress in my life. It makes sleeping comfortable, and even though it gives me very vivid dreams, they're for the most part pleasant. Plus I always wake up in a good mood.

That's weird when I fall asleep rolling, or after the rolls over I sleep so perfectly and have the most vivid happy dreams and lots of lucid dreams. A few other people I've talked to said the same thing so maybe were just oddballs. Maybe it's just from you sleeping in the suppine (spelling?) position though on your back or your side for example which will increase your chance of sleep paralysis.

Have you ever tried taking a benzo (such as diazepam, clonazepam...etc) after you come down? They can help to reduce anxiety and as a result I would think could help to diminish anxious dreams. Its at least worth a try.

Do you usually smoke weed on the comedown or know that you have taken speed laced pills? Mdma can produce anxious feelings on its own, but those feelings can be amplified by other substances as well.

I hate sleep paralysis because it always happens to me when i'm laying on my stomach and I wake up and feel like I cant breath because of it.

I find sleeping with a light on in the room or the light completley on helps it alot. For me after rolling the sleep paralysis is at its worst when its in complete darkness.

I get dragged through my house by a ghost up and down the stairs etc the scariest thing is its like i am actaully awake all the objects I see in my dream are actaully there on the landing etc and I feel as it has actaully just happened I sit awake thinking no fuking way am I going through that again and its the most scary thing thats ever happened to me.

Its normally worst the first night after and is usually well gone after the second night!
