Honey Oil - How the Hell Do I Smoke It?

I love honey oil. I remember my old friend in Humboldt county that made it and gave honey jars full of it to me at a really good price.

The trick is to take a long, pointy object (like a knife) and scoop some onto the tip. Put it over the bowl, and heat the honey oil with a lighter *just* enough to make it viscous and drip on to the bowl, but not enough to burn it.

Then, you smoke it. :)
 
Yeah, defintiely hotknife that stuff. You could coat a ciggie/joint and let it dry and then smoke too....hash oil is lovely, enjoy :)
 
The butane-derived honey / hash oil I mentioned of another friend of mine's, I tried.
He indeed was messing around with knives and scraping it out of something that
didn't look like a method to envy - he like coated a rolling paper with the stuff and
I rolled a joint with a little of the best homegrown haze I think I ever had (and I live
in Holland!) plus that paper, man was that ever smooth. It was really strong, like trippy even but not
whacked out like spacecake.
I agree, it's lovely :)

I've read that it's best to decarboxylate the acids with heat, which goes for extracts too
this can make it 50-100% more potent, is that right?

And I don't mean to whine but I'm still wondering about a way to make hash oil into some-
thing just a tad more easy to deal with, hmm maybe combine it with another instance of homemade hash to make bubble hash...
I know it's almost herecy, but if the equipment's already there to do extractions easily and you don't always want superpotent oil, and even increase the volume this could be worthwhile.
Seems like some sort of a carrier would be the shit in some cases!
 
Yeah, I get my hash/honey oil usually as glug inside a capsule (kinda dubious about keeping it in a gelatin capsule but....) and use a paper clip/sliver of metal to dip into and place on hot knives.

You could very simply lay your hash and carrier herb in a bowl, add IPA, wait until lotsa solids has dissolved, evap the IPA and smoke the herb carrier, hopefully now infused with hash oil.

then break the filter off a cigarette and stab it on to the pin
light the cigarette untill its just ash
drip your oil onto the ash, then put your lighter to it making it cherry
be ready with some kinda of tube to inhale the smoke
 
There are a few ways you can do this. I'm pretty high so i thought I'd even include pictures hey. This is from a random textfile I'm writing ATM on how to make smoking paraphernalia.

There are a few ways you can smoke honey oil, one is hot-knifing, smoking like hash and putting it on a cigarette. The trick to putting it on a cigarette is to get your honey oil and make sure its in a sealed container, now put this container in a jar of hot water for 10 minutes, this will make your oil nice and watery, dip a cigarette in, paint it on, whatever you like.

Sorry this doesn't have pictures, I'm too bent to find them but I'm sure you can imagine what to do.


This way is proven, doesn’t waste your oil and is pretty cool to watch. you can even put your oil in cold water to make it form a harder substance, maybe molding small balls might work.

Materials:
- Jar, Cup or Beaker.
- Needle or Nail.
- Pen lid or something that will hold the Pin or nail upright.
- Tube (optional)


Step one
Push the needle/nail through the pen lid or whatever you’ve chosen to use. This is to hold the oil, so any needle that'll point straight up without having to hold it is fine, it must be thin and made of something that won't burn.

Step two
Put your oil on the needle, light it and put the jar over it, lifting slightly every now to circulate the air unless you’re using a beaker, because the lip will do it for you. When enough smoke has collected in the jar, lift it slightly and suck the smoke using your tube.


Pretty simple and i hope you get the idea.

I have another question: when honey oil is take sublingually does it take as long to onset as space cake does or is it absorbed much faster that? How long does it take?
 
Hmm okay it seemed to me though that people say sublingual and not oral because sublingual is not a method of enteral administration but parenteral...
If someone with experience could confirm the timeframe either way that'd be great!

You could take a thin strip of aluminium foil. Put the oil on top and using a steel tube smoke it on a stove.
Joint and Charcoal are the other choices. I would love to afford to buy a bong with a oil piece.
 
In my area of australia after the weed is chopssed up we put a cigarette per 1.4g of pot in with the weed so sometimes we put a fair bit of oil all over the tobacco then mix it in with the pot and make sure it all rubs off on to the pot, I dont know if you smoke with baccy though. You can do the pin thing and stick it in a cig or joint though I find you need a fair bit. It a very different stoned feeling to normal pot. My friend used to make Bulk amounts about once every 6 months and hed give me a cig completely dipped in the stuff, I dont even know how it kept alight but it did and we'd get so, so ripped. Honey oil or hash oil as we call is is some of the best stuff ever. some days id choose it over cocaine or any hard drugs which is unlike me and I wouldnt do with regular pot. your a lucky one if you have some decent or even shit oil but if you have good stuff your in for some good times.

Then theres hot knives which works grat also but I dont find I get the full experience unless I smoke it with actual pot so I usually put it in with my chop, even if you dont smoke with tobacco just chop your stuff us and smear it all over the greenery until you know its gonna get you somewhere nice. Its nearly making me drool, I love that stuff so much.

I find doing hot knives and or doing a light bulb vaporizer to be a big hassel. Usually ill just take a screen, crumple it up into a ball and cram it into the stem of a bong. This way when you put heat to the oil it doesn't just slide throw the screen. It does work. I do bong tokes of just oil all the time.

Or you can just put some on the inside of a paper as suggested already.

Agreed. Also if you want to take the less classy but very effective route, you could go to a corner store and ask them if they have glass roses. They're little glass tubes with fake roses inside that people usually use to smoke crack (stay away from crack youngins it ruins lives) lol which cost about 2 dollars or so. You can also pick up a chore boy at a corner store, which are those metal squiggly things used to scrub pots and pans. You rip off a small piece of that and roll it into a ball and put it in that glass tube. A screen works, but chore boys are thicker so they hold the oil more efficiently.

Kind of baser status, but works like a charm ;)

Coming from someone who used to smoke crack for a few months, I'd feel a lot cleaner smoking ANYTHING but crack out of a stem. That's for real haha

Now that I think about it those stems are pretty crappy and break easily with too much heat, so if you don't mind spending more than 5 dollars you could stop by a head shop or any store that sells glass pipes and grab one of those one-hitters and follow the crack pipe procedures and that will work great too.

-This method is awesome (only if you smoke cigs) and is real efficient for smoking oil, works great! we call that method a "barbeque"
I actually do something else, (dont smoke cigs) I take TWO paperclips, one for scooping the oil out of the vial, the other I bent into a tight spiral and taped it to my bud buster so it hangs over the edge.... heat this spiral up til red hot and touch the paperclip with the oil hit on it to it and it will burn great, usually takes a second or 2 to get red hot! use a small pen tube as a "hooter" and your as golden as the oil!
(also make sure the paperclips dont have any coating on, as this will burn and smell bad...)
 
Titanium pads/curves are really bad ass and good way to smoke it. Not something you can do with every day equipment though.
