I first took LSD while in highschool in my Algebra class. I only had that class and two more classes before I went home. I remember skipping out of the 2nd to last class so I could hang out with friends who were having lunch then-my school had weird schedueling. I either just asked to go to the bathroom in that class and went to the cafeteria-I did this A LOT my sophmore year for one class, or I pretended that I was sick and said I had to go to the nurse and just went to the cafeteria instead.
We had a substitute in my Algebra class and as I recall (this was over a decade ago) he didn't lecture that much and basically just told us to do some work in our textbook during class and I don't think we had any homework at all, or if we did I was not going to do it since I had taken the acid.
My last class of the day was biology and we had a substitute there and they just showed us some overhead projector images of whatever we were studying at the time.
This was the most intense LSD experience I've ever had and I'm glad I did not start tripping hard until I was finally at home. I did have an enjoyable bus ride though while listening to a live grateful dead CD One from the vault-8/13/75 set 1, on my CD player.
I had a math tutor come over and it was very hard for me to actually do the math and I'd smoked some pot when I got home from school and was feeling lazy/stoned from that as well as tripping on the LSD. I did the math but I remember pretending that I didn't know how to do the math problems because I didn't want to write at the time.
After the math tutor left I went to the library with my mom and I'm glad she didn't have me practice driving then since I still had only my permit and I did not have my lisence at all then. I remember going to the library and getting actually lost inside the building and I'd been there thousands of times and I used to volunteer there.
I'm actually glad I was not tripping very hard in school because there were parts during the trip where I had ego death and I completely forgot how to speak, comprehend language, and I couldn't hear anyone speaking at all either as odd as it sounds.
I remember seeing visuals and realizing that I actually had been tripping the entire time.
I just told my mom that I was "sick" and ate dinner, took a shower, and went into my room and tripped very hard in there.
Yeah it was very foolish to take LSD like that but I'd never tripped before I'd just smoked herb some and taken low doses of prescription stimulants. Cannabis was not a psychedelic drug for me then, it didn't start becoming one until I'd smoked pot while on acid and eaten herb.
A girl I knew in school offered me the geltab then and there in Algebra class. I'd always wanted to try acid and I was 16 at the time.
When I was tripping on LSD for the first time then I remember that if I actually did have any homework that night I did not even attempt to do it.
Some of it could have just been reading from textbooks or a simple worksheet that I'd already done while in a class before Algbra, or I just did it the next day while sober and in the afterglow of the LSD trip. I'm glad I did not have to write any essays, do a project, or study for a test then.
I have also taken very low and moderate doses of LSD daily for 5 days while taking college classes. One time during the fall semester and once in the spring.
I tripped but not nearly as hard as the first time I took LSD and I was giggiling and smiling and easily able to carry on conversations with friends. I did not experience any real ego death like I did the first time where language was destroyed. I did see some visuals but they were not nearly as intense as the ones I saw during my first acid experience in highschool. Sometimes I had a very low dose trip and I just got your threshold effects from LSD where you're stimulated but you do not see any visuals at all and it's all mostly mental. Other times I saw flashes of colors and slight breathing of walls/tiles and other things but it was not nearly as intense as when I first took LSD in highschool where I tripped very hard both mentally, spiritually, and visually.
I did not find writing or sitting in class to be a chore and I found it actually enjoyable but even when I'm sober I enjoy learning and taking classes. I enjoyed Sociology class, Anthropology class and a basic art class-I enjoyed the images of the Lascaux cave paintings that I saw in a video, and a middle eastern history class.
I forget which other classes I was taking at the time. Unlike in highschool these were classes that I actually wanted to take, and I was paying for them.
I did not learn anything new at all while on LSD and taking classes. I enjoyed myself but I'm glad that these were low/moderate doses and not high/strong doses like my first experience was.
Riding a train home from college classes was fun!
Tripping while taking college classes was not a waste of a trip or a bad experience. I did it during the start of the semester because there was not really anything to do in class such as taking an exam or writing a huge essay.
I have an excellent memory, so tripping in class in both highschool and college did not do anything extra special for that in regard to learning and taking classes. I'm rather agnostic and skeptical in general and tripping while taking classes did not make me stop questioning things or certain aspects of what I was being taught. I did not completely disregard what I was learning but I knew that a lot of what I was learning, was based on theory, and some of it was on actual facts. You can do this sort of questioning perfectly fine while you're completely sober too.
If you have any questions feel free to write them here.
I've been to classes stoned, while on amphetamines, drunk, and while on opiates as well. Very low doses of dexedrine made certain highschool classes easier and made me actually want to take notes, learn, and made my short term memory recall better.
I also took classes while on low doses of Ritalin or methylphenidate and as odd as it sounds the Ritalin did not give me a stimulant effect.
Dexedrine/Adderall did not always do this either. I was diagnosed as having ADD, so that could have something to do with it.
I prefer learning sober but that's me.
I knew people in my highschool who did trip either on LSD or mushrooms during school and in the one case the one guy took a low dose of LSD when we had some sort of career day type event where professionals from the community would come in and speak to us and we didn't actually have classes with our teachers. I think he just stayed in the cafeteria for more than one period like I did when I took acid in school but he did this all day long or he might have just went to the guest speakers and just sat there doing ntohing.
A friend of mine ate shrooms and it was a low/moderate dose and he saw visuals but I think he ate them a few classes before school ended and he didn't have a bad trip.
When you take college classes you have the option of getting up and leaving in the middle of it, or you don't have to attend them at all. I'm glad that for my first acid experience I was not stuck all day long in highschool classes trying to pretend that I wasn't tripping hard.
