Holiday Travel Insurance on Methadone

Easy everyone, im planning a holiday to the canary islands and am on a methadone script, the script is all ok, the spannish embassy said as long as i had a letter from my gp/prescriber then everythings ok. What i want/need to know is whats the score with travel insurance?, any of you already done it? as in said you are on methadone, any tips? ideas or companies you can tell me about. Any help at all would be great. Thanks in advance.

Travel insurance? Are you sure you need it? I've travelled a lot and never bothered with it, there's so much small print in the contract most of the things that might happen to you they won't reimburse anyway. How long are you staying? Seriously travel insurance is a waste of money

Buying cheapo travel insurance is definitely a waste of money.. getting a policy from one of the reputable ones like LV is worth it if you're into extreme sports and travelling to exotic places.

But for the canaries all you really need to have is an EHIC card - travel insurance companies will want this to be used instead of making a claim with them. So you'd be mostly getting insurance for cancellation/lost baggage/etc.

EHIC is all you need mate i rekon.

I've traveled plenty around Europe with various Methadone & Benzo scripts no problem . I did break my arm in Portugal & was taken care of really well & my EHIC covered everything .

Yeah you don't need the travel insurance really it's a bit of a waste
