Yes you read that right. My mom and me are pretty close just like anyone else, but let's just say it's come to a different level recently (as you can probably infer 8)).
A little while ago we were visiting in a country where I could get any pharms relatively easily (IV vials, ampules, pills, syrups, etc.). Needless to say I took as much advantage as possible
,and she is highly familiar with my drug habits and detests it very much. Suppose at some point she conceded at trying to stop me.
Well anyway, the next part I still struggle to fathom: one time while I was smacked out my skull (from the usual repeated shooting up from morphine and benzos), I got frustrated because of my inability to line up the next shot properly. So much so in fact, that I decide to ask her for help because I really could not coordinate the task at all anymore.
...Initially she was disgusted at the proposition, and I can't remember how I convinced her to do it. She was a total novice, but I "trained" her so to speak; how to tie off, find a vein, insert, register, and shoot -- properly. She wasn't a fan or physician, but she did the job if I really wanted. For a good two months mommy nursed me with the various opiate/benzo/antihistamine concoctions I prepared when I was too fucked up to continue doing it myself! hahaha.
I guess it strikes me as so surprising because up until this point she has always been so straighlaced anti-drug, and well she's my ... mom. Well, ain't complainin'! . It just made me wonder how many others have drug related relationships/experiences (minus the cig or drink) with mom or pop, cause I've met some cool folks out there. It looks like my mom wasn't as bad as I thought either :D.
Anyone else lucky enough to have their parents involved in, or at least understanding of, your drug life?
