Hey there, i have a question bout hiv... today i IV'd from the same syringe shared with some gotta say girty junky, i was sick, and the only way to get us both high with what we had was IV. (i never iv'd before, he offered me some cause my WD's, so i went for it. (we washed the syringe and everything but it not calming me...
this guy had some wounds all over his body, but they not exacty looked like hiv wound (which are like open wound, and flat, from googe pictures..) these not was so red and not flat, but like some big furuncules... he asked me also if im sick of anything & when i checked myself last time; but these wounds dont let me to rest...
I wanna ask if hiv is detected on its early stages say this week i'll go to check myself, can it be succesfully threated? whats the chance of take it away on early stage?
If god save ive infected, can it be totally threated if found on very early stage?
Thank you for all who unswers, Vick.

edit\\ fuck my english was awful lol, that's a year now since i posted this post & i'm negative. i did a test for entering a rehab clinic 5 months after this injection & it was negative for HIV, but positive for hep C (fuck that i'll cope with that, just happy i got no HIV.)
fuck was that scary this day...
:)

So you're not certain that he has HIV?

You can get special drugs (Postexposure Prophylaxis)if you have been exposed to HIV.

However i think health care systems normally try to reserve them for healthcare staff who ahve been exposed (ie a needle prick whilst treating a Positive patient)) otherwise every person who has shared a needle or had high risk (or even low risk) sexual encounter would be torturing their doctor for some.

If you could confirm that the person had HIV, you might be able to get the drugs, but they are expensive.

I think this link may be helpful for you. It has details of nonoccupational exposure prophylaxis.

i not sure he had it. as i said he even asked me if im sick of something...
but he had wounds that very reminded me of hiv wounds, but not 100% same as them, a way different... (by google pictures)
thx for the reply Ernestrome.
so if i check myself now i can be succesfully threated and heal if god save i infected?

It will depend on whether you are eligible for the special treatment drugs, NPEP, which means Nonoccupational (ie not infected in the course of your employment) Post Exposure Prophylaxis (prevention treatment).

Go and see your doctor now.

Can you contact this guy and ask him if he is HIV positive, or try to find out from someone else?

I am not sure what the success rate is for NPEP, but i believe it is quite high. How long has it been since you (might) have been exposed?

A lot of HIV positive IV drug users will continue to share needles with others, so you must take resonsibility for your own health.

You should note that doctors are concerned patients will engage in more risky behaviour if they know about NPEP.

Very few exposed people actually seek NPEP, so if you can convince them that you have been exposed, and that you will not be engaging in risky behaviour again you may have a better chance of getting it.

I doubt you would be able to afford the prophylaxis. A few years ago I was working in a hospital doing phlebotomy (drawing blood) and I accidentally pricked my finger on a need that I had used on a patient that had HIV. They immediately started my on the prophylaxis, which I had to take for one month. They gave me a receipt with the amount on it, but I did not have to pay. The hospital payed for it, but the amount was close to $2000 dollars for the month I had to take these medicines. I feel sorry for people with HIV that are prescribed these meds because most cannot afford them.

If you did contract HIV, it will probably not be detectable in your blood for at the very least 1 month, but they usually say it takes up to 3 to be detected. I would be more worried about getting hepatitis, which is a hardier virus.

I dont think so... i asked him i think, and as i said this guy asked me himself if im have any deseases and asked when i seen a doc last time before to prove to himself, its first time i iv somethin and sharing the needle with this guy woried me a bit, anyway i go to see a doc soon i think.
Also this guy told me that deseases as hypatitys and hiv can't live with(or without) oxygen more then 7 seconds... blah blah self-calm myths... but mybe its true..

By the way you write it sounds like the drugs will be killing you before the HIV....8(

I'm sure thats why "nobody almost never" talks about HIV. It's because they don't give a fuck anymore.

I agree that you're a moron. It's fuckwits like you that spread HIV. I wonder if you've fucked your girlfriend while wondering if you have it??? :X

Go and speak to a doctor, never share needles and never listen to those street junkies again!

^^ listen dude, its the first & last time i iv even, and i have self control. i went for a week binge and was sick, and now i didn't seen a doc yet (i go to see this week the last week i couldn't,) but i alread wd'd (in 2 days, the shot was as tapering as it seems now) clean, and have no cravings for heroin. the drugs won't kill me before anything else im sorry :)
and yeah i have no girlfried but i didnt fucked a girl i could at friday and it was kinda stupid.
for the long run and as my personal choise i rather have some acid or candyflip then h..., and i just smoke my hash:), i dont mean to go for that kind of binges again hh i just had free supply (i offered my buddy who just got out of prison to live with me for a week till he got the mony for a room, and he always had a gram a day of crack and h... ...).
im not an addict and not really planning to be hh, i have high self control i believe, and 3 days ago when i decided to shoot an 0.5 point of h to kill the wd's (there wasnt NOTHING to snort there, though i meant to snort..), i just forgot it, it mean't nothing cause i decided.
the next day i got immodium, darvocets and kpins and already not wding, and i dont plan to do h. sorry for the long message, & thanx for the replies,
peace,
Vick.

Just because its not talked about, doesnt mean its not an issue. Ignorance isnt always bliss.

I think for things like NPEP there is about a 72 hour window of which you can start taking them and have them still be effective. If you think you may of been exposed - go see your doctor *NOW* - not tomorrow, not the day after, not an hour from now but NOW.

Also, go get yourself tested for HIV now, then about 6 months from now - while for some it may show up very quickly, for other people it may take as long as 6 months, if not longer to show up as being positive.

But hey, just read your post and checked the dates - this happened on the 6th, and its now the 9th and you havnt seen your doctor yet? If there was any chance of something like NPEP working - its out of the window now I bet.

You either have it, or you dont - and not much you can do about it anymore expect get tested now, and 6 months from now and hope for the best.

*NEVER* EVER *EVER* EVER share needles - dealing with WD symptoms for a bit untill you can get a clean needle is worth it it, as dealing with HIV for the rest of your life is a pretty shitty deal.

^ dude read the post above you, 72 hour window, don't wait!
your life is worth it.
also, since you aren't in the US (you're in Israel if I remember correctly) maybe the NPEP or other form of HIV treatment could be cheap or free. Other countries tend to have better health care than here in the US, where probably most of the people replying to you are from.

So get to the hospital and get the damn tests and/or treatment. please please please, take care of your health.

thats the point i missed the 72 hrs cuse the thing was at friday and friday afternoon shabbat is entering and no docs open till sunday, i asked for a visit already she got to call me!!

Its useless to go get tested right away... it takes 3 months before a test can be effective. They will ask you when do you think you could have been exposed and will tell you to come back in 3 months from this date. Then you have to wait 2 or 3 weeks after that to get your results. Its a fucking mental torture i tell ya, 4 months of doubts.

It happened to me a few times were i was so high off many drugs that i didt know exactly what had happened the night before and had memories of people helping me to shoot up and i was fucking freaking out as i didt know what material was used , if it was clean or not as i didt recall clearly.

Its very easy to get clean seringes in canada so i was lucky, the people who helped me had used clean needles or were not infected cause i am in perfect health.

If you are in Israel that's a good thing.

They have a much, much lower rate of HIV/AIDS infected people than North America or Europe.

So technically sharing needles is "safer" in Israel, but if you enjoy living in a country with a low HIV/AIDS rate stop sharing needles!
