well I like to mix it up a bit low doses of everything like 200mgs of tramadol same with dhc and work my way up to 5mgs over the course of the day. I've read that Xanax has a half life of 6 hrs so the first 2 mgs shud be out of my system by the time I take my last 2mgs right? And yes I asked this question cuz a couple of weeks ago 2mgs could do more than what 5mgs can do now so tolerance is building quickly at 5mgs I can still talk and walk no problem. Am I correct in thinking its quite a safe drug ie hard to OD on it?

working up to 5mg of xanax throughout the course of a day is high. the most i could manage in a day before passing out was about 4mg tops and then i'd be out cold all night but i'd usually combine it with opiates. tolerance will build rapidly if its used recreationally at high doses and trust me, xanax withdrawal is the biggest fucking bitch in the world. worse than any other w/d i've experienced - opiates,amps,cocaine...
in order to OD on xanax on its own you'd have to essentially choke on the pills because you need to injest such an amount that...well...... its something along the lines of 10,000 pills and even then the chances are extremely low. but as you increase dosage, side effects increase too and you will never have the anxiety reducing factor you once had again unfortunately. in combination with other CNS depressants though it is very easy to OD and die such as tramadol and dhc. tramadol also can cause seizures at higher dosages.

I would, yes. Im hardly benzo naive, however alprazolam REALLY hits me where other benzos miss. 1mg of alprazolam hits me WAY harder than even 16mg of lorazepam does. ymmv
You can always start low and take more. Sounds like you're planning on starting off on <5mg and redosing at some point(s). You may find 1mg or 2mg is all you need. You may also find yourself redosing more than intended; alprazolam lends itself to that very easily imo (did I take that last pill? I cant remember, better take one now...) and before you know it you've taken 10+MG and will probably do something (else) very stupid or illegal, esp if you throw any alcohol on top of it.
There are few things I think I need a tripsitter for; a high dose xanax excursion is definitely one of those things. Best to give him/her any remaining xanax as well for safekeeping. Erowid is slam full of reports of weird shit that happens on high dose benzos. Most of the stories end roughly the same: ER or jail visit.
