hi guys! recently joined bluelight, have been on this website countless times for advice and what not. :)
have been addicted to ritalin since november 2015 on and off. recently have come off it but now using tramadol.
I cant seem to stay sober. i have real trouble waking up in the morning which is what started my ritalin addiction however after a while more negatives came with it then positives and i didnt enjoy the high anymore.
my friend then introducted me to tramadol. For some weird reason this particular drug keeps me awake with mild euphoria. At first when i heard painkiller the first thing that popped into my mind was ketamine. However this was nothing like ketamine. Have been on tramadol for approximately 4 weeks now 4-5 times a week 300-400mgs each time. I understand the effects it has on my health. I really want to be able to live sober. I am not only addicted to tramadol and ritalin but also abuse nos. Im sure there are people out there that can relate. I really really hate this lifestyle, i want to do these only for recreational and not to the point where i cant function without them or have mood swings. Any advice or even just people that have similiar problems that could post, that'd be great. I feel really lonely as the people around me have no idea of my problem, let alone what its like dealing with trying to quit,

Welcome to the site :)

Your not alone with your love/hate relationship with your lifestyle and I know that there are a lot of people on here who feel the same. Tramadol is a strange drug in the way that it effects people in different ways (or has zero effects) - some feel an opiate like chilled buzz, others (myself included) feel a speedy edge to it. Are you taking the 400mg all at once or over the course of the day? Have you tried tapering - taking a little less one day, give your body time to adjust then drop your dose a bit more, then a bit more. Usually a lot easier that just stopping or trying to drop your dose to quickly.

Have a look around the site as there is a lot of information on Tramadol and addiction on a variety of substances (sober living is a good place to start for advice on getting sober)

Hi thank you so much for replying yes i take it all at once. Days I have work I can't take it and feel like complete shit. For me tramadol helps with overall mood of my day. Don't really see it as a recreational "weekend drug" but thats what scares me the most.
