My name is Craig and I am pretty familiar with this site, I have spent many nights browsing the forums looking at info on any "things" I might be doing or thinking of doing but only recently did I decide to take the plunge and make an actual account. I had recently 'liked' the bluelight.ru Facebook group and after reading through the posts I just thought I should go ahead and join the forums as well. I don't think my back story is that great but I am an on again off again pain pill abuser and I am in the process of trying to quit. So any tips or thoughts on how to overcome the awful feelings of withdraw would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome. It took lots of therapy, self discipline, and a good suboxone doctor to help me stop. My doctor has helped me get started with finding a therapist and meetings in my area. The biggest part of putting the pills down for me was desire. I had to want to stop, and I had to find a place in my heart I was willing to do any suggestions my sponsor and doctor suggest. I can agree with bronson, The dark side is very helpful when I have weak moments.

U need Imodium to fight the physical wd. You would be amazed how well that shit actually works. I've been on Opiate pain killers for over a decade and Imodium is a life saver. Of course u will not feel 100% with only Imodium but ur chills, RLS, lethargy, hold/cold flashes, skin crawling, itching, irritation will be decreased significantly. Mentally, it will be an urge you will fight for at least a month (if u are a heavy user). I've only ever gotten "clean" once since I've been using and NA meetings helped. Drug replacement therapy works for some ppl, doesn't work for others. I've found that w/ the drug replacement, you will still be in wd after u stop using Subs or Methadone sometimes even worse than if you were to do cold turkey method from the pain pills. Hope this helps. Oh, and eating bananas will help ur RLS also.
