Hello all!

Per the welcome emails recommendation I am posting a quick note in this new user area.

As I am around people using illicit drugs frequently I like to be as informed as possible. I truly appreciate open and honest forums such as these for accurate and potentially life saving information. I am a advocate for TOTAL drug legalization(if done correctly.) We have to stop making drug users criminals and address the issue of drug abuse/addiction itself from an empathetic medical stand-point and not a criminal one. Only by giving people with a drug problem assistance with treatment, mental health, financial assistance, education, child care, family counseling and career training/placement will we be able to better control the scourge of addiction. By making the drug user a criminal we have created the largest criminal justice and penal system in the world, incarcerating more of our population - by percent - than any nation on earth. The prison system in the USA is extremely costly; money that could be going to education and treatment programs. Many states have privatized their penal systems leading to corruption and price gouging. With a criminal record it is especially challenging to find well paying jobs, housing and can affect your ability to get certain grants or government assistance.
