Hey everyone 
— you know me as Sernyl.
I created substance.wiki.
Not because I wanted "my own PsychonautWiki," but because I believe resources like PsychonautWiki and TripSit deserve to be built upon.
Built upon something more community-steered, modernized, democratized, transparent, and open to correction.
I started it because people deserve information about the drugs they use that's not just accurate, but cited, provenance-tracked, and correctable when it's wrong.
And sometimes it will be wrong.
That's exactly why Substance.Wiki was built with mechanics for the community to edit/ correct/ improve what's there.
A note about AI:
I'm well aware there's skepticism toward AI in the harm reduction community, so I wanna be candid about how it fits in the picture.
AI helps me build Substance.Wiki faster. It is not the source of truth, and it doesn't get an editorial mandate over what belongs on the site.
People who use drugs do.
Anyone is welcome to sign up and suggest edits, and those edits are logged so there's a traceable history of how the information changes over time.
The underlying data comes from human experience: crowdsourced reports, open datasets, cited sources, and community contributions. My goal is to preserve where information came from instead of flattening it into an anonymous anecdote.
Transparency, traceable provenance, open data, and community correction are what make a harm-reduction knowledge base trustworthy.
Substance.Wiki isn't supposed to be a competitor It's not an oracle with my biases weaved into it. It's supposed to be a living record that people can inspect, question, contribute to, and make better.
This project has given me something real to work toward, especially lately. But keeping it free, online, and actively maintained takes both time and money, and I can't carry all of that alone forever.
