Hi, I am new but have always come across this site for help when googleing for info. I have no idea how to use it yet but i am in the new member intro thread, so Hello everyone, im 26 white female. The reason I signed up is for help, I really want to and need to quit my opiate addiction that I've had since June 2012...

Here is my quick story if anyone can help:
Roughly in June 2012, me and my boyfriend started doing Perk 30's for fun. Anywhere from 1-3 a day. With hardly any breaks, maybe 1-5 days and when it got hard, used Suboxone.
About Sept/Oct we then went to brown heroin because of availability and cost, until now.
Lately its just been 1 bag a day all at once. (.3-.4 in a bag) snorted. Most i've done is 2 bags a day. With 1-3 days without but using Suboxone in between.
I usually go into light/moderate withdrawal in 24 hours. Experiencing aches/cold sweats/slight stomach aches/sometimes throwing up..and then few more hours usually experience runny nose and RLS. that's as far as I've gone into W/D (fixing with sub or more opiates)

I have 1.5 Suboxone strips left and am wondering, considering my story/drug history, should i quit cold turkey or do a quick taper? And what should i expect for my suffering. Any tips/experience of any kind with my situation will be helpful, I have no one to talk to (my boyfriend is in jail for probation issues, and my family and friends don't know about my addiction and i'd like to keep it that way)

Please help if you can. Thank you in advance!

(if this is not the place for this post please help me with where and how to get this post out there cause i really need help and am having a hard time figuring out what I can do on this site)

Try a quick taperrr. I don't think withdrawal will be too bad if you taper off opiates slowly. Good luck to you

Im new here as well but have been coming here forever to scan for answers. I am an ex heroin addict and love opiates. I also am a drug counselor -IMO you should do a quick taper and be done with it. Dont try to substitute with opiates (pills) for kicking heroin because opiates r too easy to relapse on. If you have the ability to purchase around 100 mgs of methadone you can avoid all the wd's by breaking down the methadone into around 10 days of doses and no more. DON'T GET ADDICTED TO THE METHADONE. look at it like a very temp fix to a bigger problem and than never look back. Methadone is a whole other monster, I know Ive been on it for a gazillion years. If you cant get methadone- buy as much sleep medication as possible and try to sleep through as much as possible. Stick to the taper and you should be fine within 3 weeks. if u can get pills like Elival (sp?) or other anti depressants you can use to sleep it will help with the WD's (assuming you cant get the methadone) good luck!

Welcome to bL. I would recommend for a plan on getting off the opiate seek help over in Other Drugs, and for more just moral support Sober Living would be a great resource.
