Been taking 15-30mg oxycodone for months. Took a 8mg Suboxone for the first time today. Felt super high. However, I threw up 3-4 hrs after and can't eat. Still feeling super high, which I should be happy about, but after!16hrs now I'm starting to get really anxious. I've been reading too much online and now I'm afraid to withdrawal or throw up in my sleep.
Does anyone know the equivalent of 15-30 oxycodone to 8mg sub?
What are signs of overdose? (because I can't stop nodding but afraid to fall asleep alone) Please help aid my anxiety so I can go to sleep!!
When will this high wear off?
When can I go back to using my oxy?
Please help tonight I need to sleep!

If you have been on full opiates before this you should be fine 30mg is a moderate dose so switching to suboxone u really should not induce over 2mg that said many dr.s will prescribe 8mg and even up to 32mg for someone in your case. I have never heard of an addict overdosing on suboxone and dying tho I can imagine it could happen to someone who has no expirence with opiates. If your puking or worried about it clear your gut before you sleep and then lay on your side ask a friend to check in on you, the half life of suboxone is like a day and a half so prepare for a ride but it will eventually mellow out whatever you do wait at least 24-48 hours before you take more read up on the half life and accumulation properties of this drug because 8mgs today will mean your taking 12mgs tomorrow and if your serious about getting off opiates make damn sure you don't take It long term it will satisfy the need to use but the withdrawal will come and believe me a suboxone withdrawal can be everything that an opiate withdrawal is with the added fun of lasting weeks instead of days. Use it as a bridge to bear the withdrawal and then jump off after a couple weeks tapering the entire time Google Roberts suboxone taper and it will be a life saver.

Welcome to BL hammerpants - the post above mine seems to have covered this - 8mg is really too much for your opiate use but I've also heard of people starting on higher and i'm not quite sure how the affinity / agonism / antagonism effects really work at that dose with your tolerance. SO please check back in with us and let us know you're alright!

Thank you all so much for responding. I was up until 9am. I couldn't sleep but I was nodding in and out. I kept twitching too. Finally fell asleep for 3hrs and I'm still messed up! I'm nodding off and my eyes keep closing. I had a hallucination, I'm twitching again, I'm super hyper, not hungry, really thirty, paranoid, anxious and my heart rate is high. This sucks! I'm dumb I wish I would have done my research. I'm supposed to start a new job in 2 days!
Does anyone know when this will go away?
Can I do anything to make it go away faster?
Am I still at risk of OD?
Please help.

I reckon you'll fine in 2 days time, it should start levelling out pretty soon. As long as you don't partake in any other sedatives I would say you're not at risk of an OD.

The fact you're still alive is a great sign, try not to worry about it too much and please ask here before taking something you're not sure of next time :)

Glad you're ok!

also agree with the above - nothing wrong with being a nerd, there's plenty of us on here :)

You've said you have a similar post? What about the opposite? If you've been on sub for 6 months about 8-16mg a day on average, when can you take an opiate an actually Feel it? Seems like it will take forever! Most say 48 hours, however it seems like I can be off subs for weeks and not feel a thing taking an opiate. I know everyone's different but do I seriously need to wait months? curious for pain/upcoming possible surgery. I mean yeah, recreational has crossed my mind but mainly I'm worried about being in excruciating pain for a surgery. Thank you for any help you may be able to offer!

Suboxone contains naloxone which is what the paramedics use to bring someone who's OD'd back to "life". So you can't overdose on it. It's very safe.

My apologies, this is more of a question rather than a reply--I'm new here and I guess I'm looking for specifics. I'm an IV h user who has just had enough and had no experience with subs but was told that's what all the treatment centers use now. So, after scheduling an intake date, I started weening myself of the h, went from about 2 gr/day to 3/4gr/day over a two week period. Went into treatment and was started on 12 mg/day subs, but after talking to some others there who had been on subs 30days or more, realized I was trading one for another. So after 3 days I left. Haven't had any subs for over 36 hours, but still haven't slept in 3 days. I have 30 or so 10 mg Oxys, and 50 or so opanas. Here's the question--finally--just looking to sleep and shake the last of withdraws, would I "feel" either, Oxys or opanas? And how much would it take? I realize I'm on shaky ground here but I've never gotten into pills, and feel like I can actually use them to ween off the h, but don't want to waste after taking the subs. Any feedback, or am I just mindfucking myself. Thanks

3 days? Yes you might not feel them all but you'll definitely feel the comfort of withdrawal going away! Don't cold turkey it I did the exact same thing but on h to sub back to h them methadone and quit cold turkey. It's literally almost impossible! If you have chronic pain and can get free or cheap Suboxone have them wing you down. Good luck

48-72 hours for full affect but you can take after 24 to get a buzz in my experience

I have taken alot of Suboxone before never got high on it. I've heard people have so not knocking it but 1? Sure he was going to predicated withdrawal?
