Its fairly cheap, for a beginner

spore syringes
dry fine vermiculite
brown rice flower
1/2 pint jars
a tub for fruiting
and several other products usually found in a household

will only cost you round $40-60

The process is fairly easy as long as your careful about avoiding contaminants. And requires very little space to do so. Its a fun and easy side project to do, and after you learn a little about growing you can start bulk grows which will net you quite the yield.

Honostly you can easily aquire all the tools you need for this hobby, a grow kit is unecessary and a bit more expensive.

Tempreture absolutely makes a diffrence, you want to colonize your cakes between 75-78 F, and will need to keep your fruiting chamber heated, and humidified

Be careful I have heard that these types of mushrooms can escape and grow in the wild.
