Hi I am new and have some burning questions about oxymorphone and a Burans patch

Who ever took the time to open this, THANKS and Happy Saturday. I have quesions about a Burans 5 day patch and oxymorphone. Does patch interfer with my oxymorphone and if it does and is there any blazing way (besides insufflation, I sure that speling is wrong) that I may increase the breakthrough affect. I am only perscribed one 5mg per day. thanks again, Monty

First I am a little confused about your patches. Are you in the US?

Butrans patches come in 3 different strengths, 5, 10 and 20. Each patch is made to last for 7 days, not 5. And the answer is no, the butrans patch will not interfere with your oxymorphone. I have been on the patch on and off since they first came out and have been prescribed various additional opiate/opioid meds for breakthrough pain over the years and they do fine. At the dose that the Butrans patch releases of buprenorphine it is a dose xconsidered for analgesia not a blocking dose. A 20mcg per hour (20mg patch) releases approx .5mg per day of bupe. A blocking effect does not begin until you get up around 4mg/day.
