I live in Arkansas (insert jokes here lol), I'm 35, mom of one 18yr old daughter who is the pride and joy of my life. She is awesome but I will end up bragging about her later I'm sure. I live with daily migraines. Was diagnosed at age 7 and I have probably been on just about everything there is to be on. I also have fibromyalgia but it's manageable most of the time.
I recently got divorced and bought my very own house last year and was working at a nice job until my kiddo got sick with gastroparesis and I had quit my job to take care of her. Now we are struggling to make ends meet but we're blessed to have friends and family to help us out.
I love animals, I have a pet pygmy goat, a jack russell terrier, just rescued a kitten last week (not really a cat person but I couldn't just leave it under the house!) and I am addicted to fish keeping. At one time I had 8 tanks going ranging from a 5 gallon saltwater shrimp tank to a 300 gallon freshwater fish tank. Now I have downgraded to two small 30 gallons but that's ok. I do miss that monster tank though! I also like to work out in the yard when I'm feeling well which here lately is a rare thing.
I see a neurosurgeon for my pain management and also see my family doctor for more pain management. Thankfully those two work together and I am lucky that I usually get whatever I ask for. Right now I am playing the part of a guinea pig trying out different methods and meds to hopefully get my migraines back under control. Last year they weren't so bad, usually having 10 a month, now it's almost every day. I am also lucky that my local ER knows me and treats me kindly when I need their help.
I've been a long-time lurker here and use the site often and I'm appreciative of all the knowledge I can find here. I hope to share what I know about migraines and the meds I've used for them. I am quite knowledgeable about pharmaceuticals!
I was going to list my meds here but I think I will find a proper place to do that and start a different thread. I really like it here and hope to make some friends and have some fun too.
Thanks for listening,
Heather
