Brand new grandmother here (still adjusting) from the land of Oz. I came across this site after searching the difference between two medications, different names with supposedly the same ingredient. Found some very interesting information that basically confirmed what my body was telling me. I haven't had a good look around as yet, but looks interesting

Glad to have you in the community!

Thanks. I was given Alprax instead of Xanax by the pharmacist, this was after I said no to a generic brand. It was already in a bag so had no idea until a couple of days later. I thought, ok, same ingredient must be the same but soon found that was not the case. I was searching to see if it was all in my head or maybe someone else had experienced a noticeable difference, or maybe not.

Take a look at Other Drugs (which deals with benzos like Xanax/Alprax [alprazolam], amphetamines, opiates and other drugs) and Basic Drug Discussion, which is a good general starting point if you're researching drugs.

In regards to your question, there is no difference between generic Xanax (alprazolam) and brand-name Xanax. It's all in your head. :)

Welcome! :)
And congrats! I am sure you will adjust fine to your new status as grandmother!<3
