Hello everybody, I have used this site for a fair amount of research lately and thought I should join and introduce myself.
I am an old bloke, 42 years old. The first thing I will say about myself is that, due to an accident in 2008 I am totally blind and navigate the net using a screen reader so please grant me a bit of understanding if I should mess up with a double post or post in the wrong forum or anything like that, it shouldn't happen but I can't garuntee it.
I tried to post up details in my profile but had issues so I guess I'll give a basic outline here.
I started smoking pot when I was 14 or 15, honestly I can't remember, at 16 I got myself expelled from high school.
At 17 my parents bought me a drum kit hoping a hobby might divert me from the path I had started down with drugs.
At 18 I got into my first band, the music scene however did not turn me away from drugs, funny that.
On my 20th birthday I tried heroin for the first time.
By the age of 23 I was in prison for a 2 year holiday.
When I got out I went straight back to the gear, and with 2 and a half years of parole left I knew I had to do something so I went on the methadone program.
This did keep me out of prison, however I am still on the program today, I have never been of it, today however I am on suboxone.
2008 was the year my life changed forever, I became interested in chemistry and started experimenting at home with energetic materials.
I made ATP, HMTD, MEKP, NC, NG, ETN and was having a lot of fun.
I started to really take it seriously and enrolled in a local TAFE to do my senior with a goal of getting into university and trying to make a career out of chemistry.
Things were going well, topped the class in my first chem exam on atomic theory.
On April 27 of 2008 I took a device I had made into bushland to detonate and long story short it detonated while I was lighting the fuse.
I lost 3 fingers on my right hand and also lost my eyesight.
It took a while but I have fully come to terms with my blindness and have a good quality of life.
I still play the drums, I have a Yamaha electric kit that I love.
I am also as I mentioned still on the program and still dabble in a few substances here and there.
I have a lot of experience with opioids, having used most though not all of them over 22 years, infact over my 27 years of substance use/abuse there isn't much I haven't tried.
Hopefully I may be able to contribute to this site in some way.
So that's my story, or at least part of it.
