A complicated world
Real quick,

  • Hello I’m Dolleus I’m a 21 year old from Maryland
  • I use Adderall and other various stimulants.
  • I study CS and philosophy in college

I became addicted to my prescription Adderall, which I've been prescribed since I was 7. In early college, my use increased. I graduated high school in 2022. My first year of college went well; I started using it more, and my grades improved. I graduated with a
3.8 GPA and earned my associate's degree.

After that, my addiction really took hold, and now I'm taking a gap year before transferring to a four-year school.

Life is hard. I'm on the autism spectrum, and my mom is an alcoholic. Things are difficult at home, but I'm very grateful to have supportive people around me.

Quote I live by:

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.

¡Bien venido!
I remember taking speed a lot my freshman year to do my final papers and tests. I got great grades...then I crashed like a ton of bricks. Bad...That was the end of that for me, though I've done various stims over the years, never habitually
Good luck with your break year, that can be a smart thing to do

Yeah honestly, the majority of life learnings are not done in school. So that gap year sounds valid and nothing you should feel bad about.

Adderall at 7 makes me sort of sad.

But the power is in your hands because you are self aware. Perhaps it's time to see what life is like out of the fast lane and into the middle lane.

I love stimulants, but I also love my quiet time. It's okay to need both.

Welcome here @dolleus

Hi welcome @dolleus. What are you majoring in? I really enjoyed college when I was attending. I take medication for ADHD too but never more than prescribed. I felt that being a controlled substance and taking more than prescribed would be problematic if I ran out of medication before time to refill. So I didn't abuse. However, I appreciate the edge that stimulants give me and they help with depression too.

Yeah I was always told that people with ADHD could not become addicted to their medication. This is not true. Resent my mom to this day for putting me on a stimulant at such a young age. Ive been on them so long (15 years) my brain does not remember what life is without them

Im studying computer science and philosophy - double major. Philosophy is always been my passion but CS is economical and super relevant with AI

I recommend the U. The University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Excellent computer science and philosophy sciences program.
