Hi,

This is my first post so I'll keep it brief because I'm bound to do this wrong. I have a history of alcohol abuse, valium addiction, opiate addiction and depression manifesting as anxiety. After a polypharmaceutical overdose in 2010 I'm left with pancreatitis due to necrosis suffered then. I have beaten the valium addiction (up to 100mg/day) last year and do not drink anymore because of the pancreas issues.

After beating the vals I thought life would get easier even though I was still on Suboxone 18mg. Unfortunately, I started getting liver pain early this year (2014) and was switched from Suboxone to Methadone 90mg to help with the pain. The docs have not figured out what is going on with my liver and I am having HUGE readings of up to 1000 for my ggt and alk-p. Very scary and very painful but I won't go into that here.

I am having problems lately with a racing heart and tremors ever since I reduced my Methadone dose from 90mg to 85mg and it's really worrying me. I've read so much on possible causes and two doctors have said it's the 'done reduction. I was under the impression this small drop should not cause any real issues. I've been taking liver supplements (liver-tone plus, alpha lipoic acid) and grapeSEED extract to help with general digestive healing. Can these impact on my methadone dose?? I feel like my dose isn't lasting even 24 hours till my next dose.

It's great to have found such a good community and I hope we can help each other out over time (I feel a bit rude just turning up and immediately asking for help, sorry).

Hi Alabasster, I can certainly relate with your ailment because I have been diagnosed with liver disease from alcohol abuse. Mostly every drug passes through the liver including supplements. How long have you been on this methadone dose? It's been a long while since I was on methadone but my first thought was a compromised liver would make for a slower metabolism but I could be quite wrong. I hope for more answers too.

Welcome to BL!!

I too have suffered with liver problems due to my acetaminophen intake and I can relate I'm lucky mine is healing as I'm on 1mg suboxone a day Now which is easier on the liver.

Its Nice to have you on board:)

Good luck let me know if you need any help and have fun.:)
