I been taking benzos as prescribed for over a year. Im thinking etizolam or phenibut is a better option. Help me please. Im not happy taking .5 mgs alprazolam every day three times.

What if my doctor does not like that idea? Honestly with this kind of guidance I know I can monitor myself. I dont want to get off benzos just xanax. Phenibut and Etizolam seems to work great and that is the path I am choosing. Insight anyone?

My doctor prescribes only what hes comfortable prescribing. He is a pill pusher modestly.

He can't just take you completely off benzos at that dosage.. you would have to be hospitalized.. maybe ask him about rebound anxiety.. if nit try cutting yourself down to .5 2 a day. Maybe break them in half as well

Funny you say that because that is exactly what I have been doing as of late. Just to make them last for fear I will run out early again. I had to make up a lie to my pharmacy and doctor just to get my script refilled five days early last time I went. I have been going through them so fast.

Do you think the pharmacy will take into account the fact I refilled five days early the last time and make me wait the five days extra before I can refill again? This is another reason why I would like to consider phenibut or etizolam with my alprazolam because it just does not seem to last enough by itself. I guess it really is just something I should talk to my doctor about, but it is easier to find another way on my own while having that pillow to fall back on. I am afraid to be completely honest with doctors as they would not presribe me benzos on principle alone.

I don't know where you live but in nys pharmacies won't fill 5 days early at all unless dosage or drug has changed. This happened to me with xanax. I ended up in hospital because I went through them so quickly. That's why now I only take valium and I dont take it everyday. But it took me a long time to get to this point and lots of self control, which isn't easy for me. Why can't you get benzos on principle alone?

If this has already been said, my apologies.

Anywho I can't think of a single positive reason to stop with a physician prescribed and overseen taper with measured doses of proven effective medication in favor of a self medicated model. For one these drugs are extremely potent and this can pose problems with accurate dose measurement even when done with care, which I would consider to be very counter intuitive to the goals I perceive you having. And on top of that, the research chemical market is extremely high risk in my opinion as there is no objective third party to oversee and provide confidence in both the products and the measurements of quantity sent vs quantity ordered.

Tl;DR, I would have to advise against beginning to use grey market drugs with little to no clinical data in place of well known compounds with proven efficiacy. As someone else mentioned talk to your doctor, about either switching to a longer acting drug such as clonazepam or lorazepam. Be open and truthful and discuss your concerns and work together for a solution.

Why is it you take the alprazolam? And is it really a major inconvenience to your day to day activities? If it's anxiety based you could look into alternative methods of easing anxiety. Hope it works out well
