I'd love to grow my hair long, but it's very thick (really!) and doesn't lie properly, so the in-between stage of slightly longer than normal hair is something I've never managed to persevere with. I'd have to go through several months of looking like an actual freak before it settled down and I could be just a long-haired freak, which I think is more acceptable. To me anyway.

Mine has always been thick but must admit resemblance to a freak - actual or simply long-haired - was never really something that bothered me. Largely due to being one or t'other by definition :D

Sheer laziness is all. Was never very good at getting round to getting me locks chopped and at some point it got to the stage of being long enough to look like it was more intentional than was actually the case so left it. Over half a lifetime later...

Only just saw this but have to correct you there. It actually does affect me. Especially combined with the slight facial paralysis. Can be kinda irksome sometimes. Admittedly only under two circumstances I'm aware of thus far. Namely visiting the dentist - really fukkin uncomfortable even if it's just a checkup with no work involved. Secondly - and far more a concern in day-to-day life - is difficulty with big sandwiches

On the flipside, I have consistently been highly praised for being the best kisser in the world. Fact. Slightly odd, proportionally off, bit-too-small mouth becomes only odd when you can see it (ie not when within snogging range,) ditto on shonky proportionality, and pleasingly delicate mouth that reaches the parts more standard, proportionally uninteresting, bit-too-clumsy, oversized mouths cannot reach
