I looooove Tequila. Its the Mexican in me that allows me to drink it furiously without getting out of hand. Mom asked what I got from the store when I got back, showed her, she facepalmed =D

Tequila tastes like seawater to me. Hits the back of my throat and suddenly I'm hypersalivating and looking around for a pot plant or furled umbrella to throw up in.

I can be drinking all day, fairly hammered, the tequila comes out and so does my stomach contents, just rejects it for some reason, even sober ive thrown a shot back up lol

It's not even as though I had one of those massive blowouts on it which puts you off certain drinks, my body just rejects it and always has. I can JUST about hold it down but it's a titanic effort involving gripping the bar and concentrating extremely hard on not being sick, and since in effects it doesn't do anything significantly different to other drinks I may as well just consume them.
 
I can drink brandy, whiskey and rum without a mixer as if they were Coca-Cola, but a mere sniff of tequila takes me back to the days when my palate failed to distinguish between fine spirits and four-star petrol.

A shame, because I imagine it's a fine wreckhead's drink. We just don't get on and probably never will.
 
I THOUGHT I could drink whisky like that until I chanced upon a bottle of some blended 'scotch' shite on holiday. I tipped it into a beaker, had a huge pull on it and it bounced straight back into the glass, partly through my nose. Luckily the g/f was out of the room.
 
The lower reaches of the spirit market are a totally different matter of course. I tend not to go lower than mass-produced recognisable brands (though not as low as Bell's), although I've been known to 'enjoy' Prince Consort brandy when times have been particularly hard.

There are some truly nasty ones out there though.
