lol whut?

No decent jobs want people with bright hair here or in Korea.

Just teaching English (definitely don't want bright hair).

Any employer who was worth working for would realise that the colour of a persons hair had absolutely nothing to do with how well they could do the job. It's pretty shit that people bother so much about things like that, totally irelevant.

Why Korea out of interest and not Japan? Aren't you studying a Japanese course of some sort?

You're an idiot if you think that's how it works with employers. Hair colour might be something I can negotiate in the future with an employer but basically is going to stop me being employed at lots of places.

Korea seems a better bet at the moment, nosy bugger ain't ya? =P

Bit harsh to call me an idiot because I think it's ridicolous that employers decide who gets a job based on hair colour. It obviously does happen but it's not right. I actually think that if you were the best candidate for the job you'd get it regardless of hair colour with a lot of employers though. Why would they want to employ someone inferior all because they had a 'normal' hair colour.

Sorry for showing an interest Wibz, I'll not bother next time. Just wanted to hear about your plans, always like to hear about stuff like that. :\

i think you're a dick as well spade.

pink hair would not go well down with my employers. just like dreadlocks /mohawks/nose piercings or what ever, they don't give a fuck how cool you want to look. you must conform, or work at subway.

First time I saw her on tv I was surprised the beeb would allow it.
Rare exceptions do happen, quite fuckable she is to.

She did go back to normal hair colour now.

I'm not saying descrimination against peoples appearance doesn't happen just that's it's a shit thing to happen and shouldn't if you're suitable for the job. There will be employers out there who realise this and pick the best candidate regardless.

Or work in call centres, or public sector, or become a social worker/support worker (mine has stretched ears, spikey hair and dresses like she should be on a slope with a snowboard) some types of teaching jobs will accept coloured hair, it's just about sussing the work place out once you've got a foot in the door.

My best mate has huge pink dreadlocks and worked in a care home, but she took her piercings out and tied her hair up neat for the interview.

yeah, you're 100% right spadey boy it's bullshit and you do get some employers who can see past the pink hair. lots are cunts though and you have to look a certain way, customer facing rolls often expect a certain look.

pink hair is hot as fuck. pink drealocks <3

Sorry you made it sound like it was a fact that employers will over look that kind of thing, rather than the way it should be. I totally agree with you that hair colour is a lame thing to judge a person's ability on.

It's not been my experience that employers over look it particularly, apart from in the service industry and even then it has been when the person doing the hiring has been of like mind about different hair colour being cool.

No I think you jumped the gun, I defo didn't state it as fact I just said I thought it was shit that it happened. :p

Aology accepted. ;)

my little brother is going to korea soon too, and a koean bird and loads of korean contacts. let us know if you do end up definitely going there wibble and best of luck - ive met lots of koreans and they are all really nice, gentle, genuine people. plus its one of the few asian countries that the locals enjoy a few old fashioned beers - most are fairly reserved apparently but koreans like to get pissed on occasion too :p

The locals in SE Asia at least love to get pissed as much as the next person. They love their beer particularly in Thailand & Vietnam especially the latter where there's so many different locally brewed beers.

The Japanese get drunk quite often too, and drink a lot of beer. I guess it's more a male thing there though.
And apparently the chinese aren't adverse to a bit of heavy drinking either.
