hey sorry about this but im only 14. i really need some advice and i will get off of this website right away.. ive smked for like 10 months.. im scared that its ruining my brain development. my coordination is really bad.. and soemtimes it kind of hurts to get high, like hurts my brain. i hear these little clicks and shit in the back of my head, where it hurts when i get high and think about it. when im sober.. just walking around or whatever. i really needed to tell someone because im really scared this will be permanent or something and i dont want to tell a doctor or anything. please help me..

yea, i used to do it everyday for a while but i pretty much only do on weekens now. this will allow me to mature more i guess.

It sounds like you don't even enjoy smoking weed at this point, so I don't know why you're continuing to smoke.

Give it a rest for a bit, I'm sure with a decent break you'll start to feel normal again, but the worst thing you could do right now is continue to do damage.

i like smoking, but if i get too high it hurts.. yes i have a "too high" point where it starts to hurt. it used to not be like this but i dont know why its happening now. back in the summer i used to mess around with some mids by the dime.. now i normally get some good kush and more quanity

Okay.

First of all. Welcome to BL. :)
You've come to the best place for advice. It's great that you're evaluating your usage. 14 is a really young age to be messing with mind altering substances.
So yes. You would be much better off if you stop smoking pot.

Between now and age 30 you're gonna make alot of decisions regarding where you end up in life. So you wanna give yourself a damn good chance and ditch the drugs. Make alot of money, travel the world, etc.

Then when you're 30 you can start all over as an established adult.
At least when your 30 you'll have enough money to buy a top notch vaporizer & you'll be wise to all the practices of harm reduction.

Fwiw I started smoking pot when I was 15 and it really interfered with my emotional development.

You got all the time in the world and you're wise enough to be asking questions. Which is the best combo anyone could ask for.
Listen to your inquisitive brain! It's telling you to quit smoking pot because you know the score.

Pursue a career centered around a hobby that you really enjoy.
If drugs are your bag. Go study to become a chemist or something. Don't limit yourself now by becoming a teenage pot smoker. ;)

thanks man, i dont know about stopping completely.. maybe every once in a while.. like 2 or 3 times a month if that. you are completely right about everything.

Hey there, Welcome to bluelight.

As others have said, yes, 14 is honestly too young to smoke pot. Especially on regular basis like you were. Although overall Cannabis is one of the safest recreational substances it can def have negative effect on the maturing brain. Smoking regularly at too young of an age can have negative effect on your cognitive development and cause problems with memory and coordination. Luckily because your brain is still developing it can easily regain its normal functions after some time away from smoking. I def think you should quit or atleast try to cut wayyyyy back! I too started young, when I was 13, but only got to smoke a few times before say 15. 15-17 I wasnt a daily smoker, but I already have AD/HD and dyslexia and wasnt doing too great in school. I prolly shouldnt have smoked as much as I did then. Def lay off until 17-18 when your brain is closer to being matured.

In terms of you feeling too high and the pain in the back of your head with the clicks makes me think your experiencing some anxiety from the high. Which is totally normal and once you notice the symptoms associated with anxiety they can make you super paranoid and you start thinking theres something terribly wrong. The more you the think something is wrong, the more anxious you get and the more you experience the symptoms. It can be a scary cycle. Anxiety can cause alot of muscle tension, which can sometimes be concentrated in your neck and the bottom of your head. Your spice does extend somewhat extend into your skull area, and it could be that the clicks your hearing is from where your spine meets your skull cause all the muscles around the area are tense when you too high.

But over all you have nothing to worry about so long as you lay off the smoking.

=^.^=

i know i was feeling the same way about that and it really takes a big experience to just give it up completly, after youve been high for so long, you forget what being sober is like and dont want to be sober any more. doesnt sound like the case for you but trust me, completely abstain for a month and do some soul searching without that thought of, "i cant wait till the weekend when i get to get high" because as harmless as it is, it is still a drug and can affect you in negative ways, especially at such a young age.

and like cornish said, you still have youre whole life ahead of you, think about it... youre not even out of high school yet, and that is a mere 18 years old not even 1/4 way done with your life most likely, and you will have plenty of time to experiement with things and feel good from other stuff. go get yourself started in a good career the possibilities are truly endless and if you set up the rest of your life with a good paying job that you enjoy, the rest will come naturally and you may find you dont even want to smoke or do any drugs any more, or maybe it will turn into a once a year type of thing or whatever suits your fancy

it took a psychidelic experience for me to realize i needed to quit and not have my judgement clouded, and now i will smoke on rare occasion, but not the every day heavy toker i used to be.

EDIT: also find a good chiropracter, they make amazing things happen as far as neck and back issues go

thanks everyone for the advice. yea im thinking i should do it once every month. its even getting me in trouble at school. i gave some to my friend and he got caught with it. they saw me give it to him on the cameras. i got suspended only because i didnt have possession. i think i am hitting my growth spurt right now and i was just getting scared that smoking would slow down the process or even "disable it" haha. thanks again.. happy smoking =D

I got caught doing the same thing on 420 of my freshman year of high school, also on camera. The kid snitched on me after he flushed it and I still got kicked out. I also almost got caught smoking weed on the soccer field but they only caught us with cigs but they knew and couldn't prove it.

I would try to chill with the smoking a little. I wish I never started at age 15.

I started at 15. It was so different back then, using on weekends with friends, but by the time I was 20, my addiction had spun out of my control. I manage the rare break, but I've pretty much spent my entire adult life stoned. My addiction to pot today is still out of control - I'm pretty much like a heavy cigarette smoker but with weed except I vaporize most of the time so my lungs are good - still can't resist the odd bong tokes - but I have matured and learned to handle it a bit better in terms of conserving my stash, not freaking out so much when I don't have it etc. plus this top-of-the-line vaporizer is a big help in terms of hiding it from everyone

If it messes with your development, like it did with mine, you might develop mental health problems that would make you even more dependent on cannabis. Or if you get lead into using other drugs, you could develop health problems that would make you more dependent on cannabis. There might come a time when it is no longer solely recreational, but you require cannabis to be calm and think straight.

I'm just saying that if you are starting so young, there is a chance you could end up a drug addict like me, with a psychological attachment to weed so strong that even if you wanted to stop it is pretty much not possible. The day I quit smoking weed is the day I head to the crematory.

I think you need to worry more about addiction, than about long term effects with this drug. The only noticeable long term effects I ever experienced from weed were all addiction / withdrawal effects and they're horrible, definitely is a negative driving force in my life.
